Whelping box for a Labrador

Thanks, I've been sitting with her keeping the pups topped up with milk. I've given her a jag of oxytocin as she was quite distressed and has started to cleanse.
yeah they will all be for sale and both parents are working stock (the sire is Tams (amanda16) yellow lab) I'll get some better photos next week and put a listing up in the for sale section, dogs will be £350 and bitches £400

Tams dog is excellent sire you won't find better. A friend of mine had a relative to Tam's dog and that was Brilliant but unfortunately got Alabama Rot and lost it's battle in Feb this year.

Stacey, just saw this thread, wish I had seen it earlier as that way I could have given you my whelping box to use! Too late now!

Only suggestion I would make if she is being fussy about what she's eating, is to pop along to the vets and buy a tub of SA37 tablets and powder. Its a vitamin and mineral supplement that can be given to the bitch in tablet form, and a sprinkle of the powder on the pups food when they are on solids. I have always used it after Edward Martin recommended it to me years ago. Just ensures there is absolutely nothing lacking in the bitch for passing on to the pups.

Delighted to hear they are all doing well though. If you want a suggestion for puppy food, Beta Pup. Expensive but any pups I've had have thrived on it. A wee drop Ambrosia creamed rice smeared on the puppy food will get them on it immediately! They love it!

Thanks for your replies, unfortunately down to 11 pups now number 12 and 13 were born almost 12 hours after she finished with the one before. They weighed under 200g when all the others are 500g to be honest I'm surprised they lasted so long we were hand feeding them every two hours and thought the smallest was getting stronger but they died this evening.
Meg is doing well and is eating but being fussy, only mince from the butchers lol.
thanks Brian I'll have a look for that supplement for her as with the amount of mince she is eating amazing, I just tried to be sneaky and mix some dog meat in with it and went out to to find no mince and no dog meat eaten.
I didn't mind having to make the whelping box my woodwork isn't too bad, it was more the dimensions I wasn't sure of but seeing her in with the pups it's probably a bit on the large side.

Don't worry about it being too big, the pups will find her! plus it exercises them, lol......

To be honest that's a bit more of a manageable litter for her Stacey. Sad they didn't make it but exactly the same experience and number believe it or not that I had when I bred a GWP a few years ago.

Cant recommend that supplement highly enough......

Yeah that's very true lol.
I'll get some of that, I got a supplement for the BMH when she decided she didn't want to eat I'll have to look to see what the name of that supplement is.
yeah it was quite a strange one when she was having them as I've never seen anything last almost 12 hours between delivering the last one and then the following, number 12 and 13 were perfectly formed but tiny.
I'm glad my shed is within the range for my wi-fi as I seem to be living there lol

I'm going to start registering the pups with the KC in the next week, 6 dogs and 5 bitches. Does anyone have any suggestions for KC names? All help with be much appreciated as I'm terrible at thinking of names.
