Without naming the smith it is not a warning, just a rant.

It is a warning in as much as when getting some major work done get everything in writing that is being proposed along with a quote for the work and a completion date (within reason) and receipts for everything including itemised bills for parts and labour once completed. Or just use one of the highly recommended quality smiths

Thats why I did it, I didn't want to get into a personal slagging match with the individual involved over the internet nothing to be gained by that, I've told him my opinion of him, when I do it again I will be doing it just as you said everything in writing etc, I could forgive a couple of weeks, a month at most, these things happen.

I had a call this morning which I think relates to this thread, but am not positive.
All I would say is that to build a rifle takes time, and money, a lot more than £1500.00.
Admin has come under attack of late for not taking action on certain posts and when we do we are damned and if we don't we are still damned. Frankly I am not nor is the site becoming involved with this argument, but up to now no one has been named in person which I think is the sensible thing to do.
If indeed there is cause for concern with this transaction I suggest that both sides sit down and sort it out now. If this is not possible then legal action will be the only way forward, the truth will out with everything. But I always feel that talking it through can resolve issues providing there is integrity with both parties.

A bad experience for you on all accounts.
So your warning people on two accounts. One from your side of things in reference to no written contract and two this dude who I have no Idea who it is. If I went to your extreme length of first post with what evidence you have I'd have named him as chances are people not knowing him will be probably negotiateing deals not knowing what may lie ahead.
