Hi everyone,

Looking at getting a new anschutz. 22 lr for pest control. What's the best model to go for? Stock? Barrel Length? Anything you would recommend or stay clear of? Needs to be accurate!

It'll be mainly rabbits I'm shooting with it.

Thanks in advance! Budgets not an issue but must be with in reason 😂

There’s a 1761 on here £900 am waiting for my 17 hornet a 1761 thumbhole
Sold my hmr 17 thumbhole 1417 still got the .22 Annie & semi Annie in 22
Stupidly accurate….
Nothing wrong with cz but think you get bit more refinement with the Annie

Well my mates anniie was far from refinement

You’d be hard pushed to find a bad .22 rimmy to be honest, over the after trying most makes i’m settled on the thumbhole short barreled Anschultz and a blaser, worlds apart on price both thumbhole and i’ve had the anschultz serviced and polish up to get it slick and smooth to operate if you like, its a lovely bit of kit and for a truck rabbit basher you cant beat it, they are both shoot hole on hole
These are the two that for me are keepers and are lovely bits of kit, for how they function and the thumbhole stock suits me

No ‘L’.

My .22 is a 1954 BSA century, shortened to 16”. It’s lovely!

1417 with a non thumbhole stock.

trigger is excellent, 14” barrel is great, from a truck or out walking.

I had a CZ before, I changed it as the Anschultz was a great deal. Accuracy was on par between them, trigger is the only step up.

Nowt wrong with the CZ, very good rifles.

Definitely look second hand. A shot out 22lr is a very rare occurrence.

CZ457 has a far better trigger than previous CZ’s

XIV carbine thumbhole walnut stock. 14" barrel. I have one son has LH one and his mate has one. I added an adjustable butt to my sons. You need to fettle up the ejector claws. Used to live on a diet of original Eley subs then when they went to pot changed to magtech subs. Then pale blue Box Winnies.
Just find the bullet it likes and it will be more accurate than you. Lovely 2 stage match trigger.
