Which mounts for Brno model 2 rifle?

Hi all,

I have just bought a new 30mm tube scope for my Brno model 2 rifle.

Do I need to buy a specific type of mount or will a regular 11mm dovetail fitting do?

been awhile since i put the scope on my brno but from memory the 11mm dovetail will fit.

You need 16mm dovetail mounts

Yeah the Mod 2 has wider rails, some normal airgun type mounts will go on but they'll sit ****ed. Sportsmatch do properly fitting ones at sensible money.

Any 16mm tikka style rings will fit too. Rusannas well, and specific old Parker Hale as well

had mine a very long time brno 2 .22lr I am sure ? mine measure up 11 across the top of the dovetail or where am i going wrong not difficult for you to check just measure them.

Every day is a school day! What date's your rifle? I didn't think the skinny rails came in til the 452! Mine's 1973 and has the wide ones

Don’t know how do i date it? was a cz/brno 2-e not the 11mm ? As i say one of the first rifles I purchased so memory is not good, will check my FAC tomorrow sure it states Brno as make

There should be a 2 digit date stamp on the left hand side of the barrel where it meets the receiver

83 By the look of it,

16mm dovetail. Easiest thing to measure, even put a ruler across the top as they are measured from top flange to opposing side

the Brno model 2 has a 15mm dovetail that is the same as the 527 and the some Tikka models.
As far as I remember it was the CZ that was 11mm dovetail.
As mentioned Sportsmatch do mounts and adapters.

Some like my Brno mod 2 are indeed 16mm, but either way, 16mm rings is what’s needed for either. Brno rings or hillver are also perfect for this application, they line the boxes of many ‘used’ rings/mounts collections in gun shops.

That’s strange, I measured mine today with digital callipers and they are 11mm.

The rifle is a Brno model 2.

I couldn’t find two digits next to the receiver but there was a serial number, ending with 67, is that the year of manufacture?

83 By the look of it,

Your rifle, if proofed in 83 is not a Brno model 2. It is either a transition rifle from Brno to CZ which would be marked Brno Arms on top of barrel and CZ on top of receiver (although this is a late year for one of these). Or it's more likely a CZ 452 ZKM 2e in which case it will be 11mm dovetail. Check what is stamped on the rifle or just measure the dovetail across the top.

No. The 2 digit date year should be there, I've never seen one without it.

11mm see post #6. I do know it still shoots great.

No. The 2 digit date year should be there, I've never seen one without it.

Mine was on the left side of the barrel just in front of the action. My CZ527 and 550 have/had the date in the same place.

Found it, I was looking at the wrong side

Mine says ‘90’, the dovetail is 11mm wide.
