Just going back over some old footage of foxes being shot with the Triple Deuce and the Zulus and was struck by the apparent difference in LRF/BC holdover for two long range shots.
The first was 315yds according to the Zulus and the fox dropped to the shot:-
The second was 319yds and was a miss - which of course can happen especially at that distance.
However I was struck by the apparent differences in the position of the red reticle zero - the green one has significantly more holdover as evidenced by the amount of lower stadia visible immediately above the red zero line. Accepting that the first picture shot resulted in a dead fox suggests that the second shot at pretty much the same distance would have been high - probably enough to miss? Even more puzzling I head shot a rabbit at 221yds only 5 mins before the second fox picture so confident in my zero, I was happy to take on the fox at such a distance.
I will be at the range tomorrow and will check the Zulus zero but in the interim any thoughts chaps?
