Waiting Times for Lancs FAC

Well sent my cert in on 7th April for a like for like swap on a spare slot, came back yesterday 27th May.
Unfortunately there was an error (omission of a owned firearm) have now sent it back to have it rectified.
Wouldnt mind so much but, I do send a comprehensive list of all my firearms with serial numbers every time I send in a variation in to avoid such mistakes.
This is the second time the very same firearm has been missed of my certificate.

I've got to admit each time I've sent in my FAC for anything they have always been good, on the flip side I've not had to send it in for a while, Pete in the office is spot on for me, works like a gooden.

I'm now dreading my renewal in Sept

Well I stuck in a variation request in early April and so far radio silence so it's at least 2 months.

Holy **** thats obscene. I was told in March that they were back log of 2 months. My FAC has been in for two months and nothing. Tried Chivvying along yesterday but no phones. If its going to be 1 year I will rent a property in another county!!

Wonders never cease! Just got my variation back, less than a month after applying.
This time, assembled rounds are listed separately from expanding missiles.

Someone said Cumbria was under a month. Genuinely a possibility for me as I work from home so its not an issue to relocate if it saves 4 months or more."

Don't bother! I'm in Cumbria, renewal went in mid March. Still waiting, they've given me a temp ticket, valid till mid-August.

news update on my returned cert due to error, the now rectified cert has been printed an is awaiting signature!!
returned on 27th May after a 8 week wait.

Thank goodness I come under Herts, & Beds, with Cambs now taking them both over.

They lost 1/2 the staff when Herts, & Beds joined, and they're still FIRST class, mainly due to one person, Mary, who pretty much seems to single handedly keep the place running smoothly ! God help them, and us, if she goes !!!

Hi I am with lancs about 4 weeks for variation this month
email works and gets dealt with no problem

Think Variation gets priority. I sent email and message but no response. Oh well I am off on holiday now till the end of the month by which time will be 16 weeks iirc.

Move to West Sussex. FAC is due renewal in September. They contacted me and home visit arranged for next week. Oh I have not submitted the form yet, so they will pick that up at the same time..

Thats because they are conducting a review of all FACs and SGCs they have issued. thats approx. 10,500 certs in all

Just to update in case anyone is wondering about this sorry state of affairs.

I received and email saying my application will be processed within 6 months. Which is now 3 since I sent it in, along with all the correct paper work. Its an absolute joke. I wrote to the PCC to complain doubt I will hear anything but worth a shot. At this rate I may be able to go stalking in Jan 2017!!! Travesty.
