Hi,
looking for some advice, need to send my Ziess RF binos for service and repair.
is there a Ziess service centre in the uk or do I have to send them over seas!
What sort of cost am I to expect?
Thanks in advance

They used to do repairs and servicing in Cambridge, but now everything goes back via your local dealer only to Germany. Instead of good old Zeiss free repairs and servicing you now pay through the nose and your dealer I bet, gets a cut too!

i had the tracking in my Zeiss go, and it came back with a £580 invoice.

i LOVE Zeiss, but i will be looking elsewhere for my future scopes and binos, simply as I find it unacceptable for such repair bills for products that a. Should last, and b. Are actually quite cheap to fix.

free servicing and repairs guarantee customers for life, I don’t understand why more top end companies don’t respect that.

i had a pair of 7x42 diatal bino’s repaired and serviced for free by Zeiss in Cambridge about 6 years ago via the head hauncho called Mark..I was impressed..esp as it took them only a week and they were returned like new! He now is head of Leica UK I believe, and his comments about his former employer wasn’t exactly praiseworthy when he left I recall after talking to him.

that said, I find Leica just about the MOST obnoxious brand on the planet and whilst they have one product I like, the thought of dealing with them is nauseating

That's a shame ref Cambridge / UK service. Had an ASV+ retrofit on a scope and bino repair done there, no hassle, reasonable cost and good service!

It's what everyone refers to nowadays as "progress".........;)

As above. Indeed I beleive all UK Zeiss repairs must first pass through the hands of Gary who will determine wheather or not they must go to Zeiss HQ.

What did you find worst with Leica ?

Just sent my 25 year old bins in for a service through my local Zeiss dealer. They came back from east coast binocular repairs fully refurbished free of charge. Excellent service.

I only had mine serviced and bit of work on the eye cups but that was FOC aswell. He said they were extremely busy which you would be if you have excellent customer service like that so it does take a bit longer than normal at the minute. But Zeiss owners shouldn’t look anywhere else.

I had excellent service via Gary, my binoculars had to go back to Zeiss Germany but came back on the day promised and at no cost.

Likewise, I sent my scope in for a check as I was having windage issues and it was checked and returned free of charge. I did have to send one email chasing after a couple of weeks but then it was processed within a few days and returned.

You can't make such an uncompromising statement and leave it at that! Hell, anyone would think they were responsible for the proliferation of moderator equipped rifles!

I'll be interested to hear how you get on with this as my ones could do with a service.

Keep us posted!!
