This happens on a smaller scale in this country. I heard of someone who shot a roe doe, that the guide had selected, being charged £150 'because it was a big one'.

I was told he did! Like I said in an earlier post, there seems to be a steady supply of people desperate to pull a trigger.

Well I would have told the guide to stick his Roe where the sun don't shine!

Mind you I have had someone recently stiff me for Fallow carcase. After stalking twice with me and both times badly shooting a Fallow Doe. I let him off the first time, but the second time I did not get paid for a gut shot beast, and waited for the cheque, nothing came. Having asked again and been told that it was tagged so I must have sold it so why should I pay...…………………….it was a level 2 stalk, he didn't even know what to put on the carcase tag, which of course is the final step on your level 2 to present the carcase in the larder, apart from writing down the beast on the larder record sheet, which he didn't do either!!
No stalking with me again that's for sure, bloody comedian!!

So its not only guides or agents, clients can be just as bad, or even worse. Someday I shall sit down and write a book. After 40+ years there have been some comical moments, and some not so comical.
