Ar-15 style .22lr semi auto rifles

Anyone on here shoot with a semi auto .22 ar15? If so what have you got and what do you think of it? Getting another .22 on my licence and torn between having a full on black rifle or a decent spec’d ruger 10/22,
Would be just for plinking and fun but wouldn’t mind something half accurate 😂
Cheers,
Tom

I have a SGC ar15 , it come with v22 upper made by CZ , very accurate ans shoots most .22s I put through it , some of the subsonics are a bit low powered but they didn't work well in my 10-22 either . I use it for bunny bashing and occasional target shooting .

Awesome, guessing you have a .223 straight pull upper too? And how does it compare against a ruger 10-22?
Thanks

I owned a Bremmer that I found worked especially well with Eley ammunition that came in a yellow box. They don't make it now. I used genuine Colt military magazines with the American five round .22LR adapter inserts. Other than that the barrel is actually longer than on the actual 5.56mm M16A2 it handled near enough the same.

I’ve got a Kriss Defiance .22. It’s a great rifle. Full metal, solid build, very reliable & accurate too. It’s got a 10/22 barrel so get something for fun and useful too

I’ve heard really good things about Kriss, any dislikes to it at all? And guessing it feels really well built due to it being all metal?

Just that it’s too nice to take in the field! Haha Ye the metal build makes it really nice, feels really well built. I’m on the FB page & only problem they seem to have is the firing pin, which I believe is easily replaced or upgraded. Other than that, awesome piece of kit

They are very tempting, just trying to find one for the right price, is it picky with ammo or will it shoot just about everything? Thanks

I've got the S&W M&P 15-22 and really like it. It is very accurate and 100% reliable. I have a Franklin Armory binary trigger in mine (google it) and have dumped 50 round drums in 4 seconds without a jam or misfire.~Muir

Yes straight pull but a handier design than the original ar15 /m16 , better than the Ruger imho , I sold the 10-22 , even with the usual add-ons it wasn't as good as the SGC/ V22 combination . Legendary CZ reliability and accuracy .

I’d love something to change from .22 semi auto to .223 straight pull, is it easy to change over and the more I get to know the less I want a 10-22😂

That’s ace going that is, the only semi auto I get to shoot regularly is the club ruger and as you can imagine it’s had a hard life and likes to jam up or eject live rounds a bit too often, has the trigger made a big difference?
Cheers

Looks ace! How well did it do at 200 yards? And is it moderated? And that red dot sight looks good on it, fantastic piece of kit you’ve got there

hi tom yeah it shoots flawless, i was getting about a 3 to 4inch group, but with a 20 x scope, the red dot on it is an original aim point micro t, and yes its modd cheers bs
