Basc voluntary lead ban

My Org has just sent me this ? so why did they take some others statement as the facts ??? "dogs and tails anyone " :cuckoo::cuckoo::doh::doh:

Dear SACS Member,

Following the cartridge manufacturer's joint statemen today, SACS wishes to clarify that it is our understanding that cartridge manufacturers were consulted on the proposed five-year transition from lead shot in live quarry shooting with shotguns.
Please find below our full clarification statement.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact SACS Director Alex Stoddart on 07879 550750.
Best wishes,

The SACS Team

 :cuckoo:

Paul,

As you are a member, why not call Alex and ask him whether he is willing to withdraw his support for the lead capitulation statement? If he was lied to, then he is destroying SACS for nothing. He can't ride out the loss of his members like BASC can.

Kind regards,

Carl

It is absolutely unbelievable that no one consulted the ammo trade.

Now basc has had a few bad and terrible decisions over this year's but his is just unbelievable, don't think they could off made a bigger f**k up if they actually tried.
Has any one investigated if our cwiss is the new CEO in disguise?? He must be p*ssing himself laughing the now.

Really looking forward to see how basc fight the looming releasing off non native birds fight?
Guessing by banning releasing birds f**king bunch of f**ckwits

I may have misunderstood. If it is voluntary, why would anyone take any notice. As long as shooters buy lead shot, the manufacturers will continue to make it.

It is the point. Firstly the quantity of lead in shot game is not high by comparison with several other foods. Secondly, your point depends on the erroneous presumption that the EU is the major market for UK game.
What information exists does not support that big "if". The EU is at best a minor market for British Game
Hi
As we have seen many times, science has not driven much of the regulation/bans/etc implemented in the modern day when it comes to our sport/hobbies/way of life/etc. I based my thoughts upon the fact that someone mentioned the EU is very much against lead-shot game supplied by this country and a major importer of our lead-shot game. So, "IF" this is the case then this will be a major driving force behind the supply and demand surrounding British supplied game. Simply put, if you have no product market then you need to have sound justification for producing the surplus, especially when that killing is done for "fun/entertainment". If it isn't the case then clearly we can sit around and await the next "sound rationale" provided by the likes of Mr Packam and his like-minded cronies, but we really should be alive to the threat to a ban of lead rather than self-imposed alternative options.

more than that,, it appears when questioned about it the claimed they had discussed it with them?
so someone looks like they're telling porkies.
I know who i believe and it isn't the organisation that i pay to represent my interests.

Alex from SACS telephoned me at about 3.45pm to explain he'd been "misled" as above by BASC.

Too late I replied. I've little sympathy. SACS should have made their own enquiries.

He didn't. So come renewal I'm done with SACS.

Look before you leap - Stable doors and bolted horses.

If he were to withdraw his support for the BASC statement and renounce its contents as based on untruths, then he might salvage his honour.

This is a bit of a bomb shell..!
It appears the BASC are now out on a limb, As i can see the other groups wanting to distance themselves from this now.
But why would they mislead the other organisations?

REDLEG remember when you were a kid?

What was the story?

You might even be old enough to remember Danny Kaye's song too.

The Emperor's New Clothes! There's none as easily fooled as them as let's themselves be misled.

Anybody at any of the organisations outwith BASC could have picked up a telephone.

Or is it also possible he and any other orgs see political/membership/finnancial gain by distancing themselves from basc??

The only truth is they put there name to it, never thought to check with any contacts Inthe ammo trade, or any off the many other implications of it.
