What is every bodies thoughts on rabbit numbers in your areas at present? I’m seeing a significant decline down my way (southwest Cornwall). Should be buzzing by now no?

Because of lockdown l can’t go further afield to look, but in and around the village we’re extremely lucky if we see “one”, when only three years ago l couldn’t shoot them fast enough for the local farmers, rabbits were everywhere........not now !!

For the last fifteen years here in the Welsh borders there were very few. Not enough to shoot until last summer, but I still left them. This year however I have taken a dozen over lockdown. Rabbit Tikka masala, my favourite!!

Got a few about, but nowhere near the numbers we used to have, in fact on two of my farms I have stopped shooting them for now, some of my perms in Derbyshire still have decent numbers, but I think generally speaking they are on the decline, I think a few factors are causing it, mixy, vhd, and one of the biggest certainly round here is the amount of badgers digging the kits out, if I go out lamping, some nights I see more badgers than rabbits 🤔

Plenty here 3yrs ago, then they got hit with disease, now starting to come back in decent numbers, the farm next door has asked me to thin a few out for him

Not been out since March 10th when I shot 17 and signs then were that it would be a usual year for me. ie out once every 7 days and a bag 10-15 each outing

Last 1 even 2 years they where down to nearly zero on all my permissions and not only there as i travel every day and have opportunities to observe at least half of the Northern Ireland. But now they are back again to a good numbers with plenty of healthy looking baby's

In our part of North Devon they looked to be quite plentiful a few weeks back. I have not seen so many on my regular excercise walk around our local fields in days since then. I suspect that the fine weather and longer days allow them to pick and choose when to feed.

I won't have a good idea of numbers till I get back on permissions post lock down and can visit fields at different times of day.

Don’t have that problem around here as badger numbers have nosedived, thinking about it that may correspond with seeing more numbers this year.....

I was a week ago thinking there's enough to make a nice evening out with the rifle, and in the last couple of days it looks like vhd is coming through again, several have been found dead.

100+ on one small triangular plot. Road on two sides and footpath on the other. You wouldn't want to attempt it if you wish to keep a licence.

Plenty here in places but very localised. Some normally problem areas haven’t any.

Went out around the farm Wednesday night and saw 1 rabbit , where have they gone ? I am quite keen on fox control because of my pheasants we have lush grass because we have been bizy reseeding but still no rabbits ,or not like there used to be
