Mick Cawston Artwork

Just curious whether anyone on here has any work by Mick Cawston, if so, which do you have?

My partner has 3 of his signed prints, and I think that they're great pieces of art.

I saw it years ago but couldn't get one for love nor money. You don't see many pictures of beating/dogs so it's unusual. I eventually found one online from the States. He captured the day perfectly for me. I love beating and springers. Mick Cawston had a real gift. Tragic he's no longer with us

I don't have any pictures by Mick Cawston but I do have one of his little statuettes of a sly old fox in a hat and long coat carrying his dog and a hare - given as a wedding present to my son and his wife but passed on to me as the new wife thought it a bit sinister.

I had the 'let me do the talking son ' , a woman was texting several times a year to sell it , it got sold for a good few hundred pounds ,, still have a coursing print which is really nice ( for sale )!! Like you say a real talent, such a shame20200517_110856.webp

I thought we had 3 but turns out we have 4. 2 are in the attic waiting to be reframed, but these 2 are up.

My favourite is "Trespassers Will Be Fed". 20200517_110639_capture.webp20200517_110655.webp

I have three of his prints, and I'm on the lookout for more.

A pub in Brendon on Exmoor has many prints and originals of Mick's.He lived on that area and drank there.
If you go to Lynton and have a walkabout there are one or two murals on shop and pub walls.

I have a print of two springers flushing pheasants done by Mark, would never part with it, believe my son has the same but of Weimaraner's which we bought him when his dog died.

I have quite a few Mick Cawston prints. Some of my favourites are a lurcher that could have been a study of my first running dog, a little print of a Jack Russel stealing socks entitled “Sock Monster” a Roe Buck study and a print entitled “politically incorrect”

the politically incorrect is a scene of the Houses of Parliament at the time of the hunting ban. It portrays one side of the house as all of the sporting, working, running dogs and hounds and the other is lap dogs, toys and pets. Lead by a large Rat with an American flag as an armband. But there are so many little hidden details, that every time I look at it I see another bit of wit. It hangs just inside my front door as a flag of a sporting house. 37E86E29-79A6-4372-ACE2-DC0DB367909F.webp023E9439-E1D8-4C6E-AFB6-72C6F4C27B07.webpEB6B45F2-BFA2-4940-B754-863850013D62.webp
