So now that we have completely left the EU...

I agree, so why do the Scots keep voting them back into power. Wee Jimmy tells the Scots over and over again what damage she intends to inflict on them, yet they still vote them in.
Because the voting system is rigged. Remember the bottom line: only 4 of 32 local authority areas in Scotland voted for independence, and the turnout and number of 'stay in the UK' voters was greater than all who voted SNP last national election time. 'Jammy' Krankie might wish it otherwise, the penguin of Portree may wish it otherwise, but them' the facts. If Scotland voted in favour of independence in some mindless 'lose 30% of yer assets in exchange for turbo-charged Austerity for the next 20 plus years' dare-gone-wrong, what you'd see next ain't the breakup of EU, but the fragmentation of Scotland, as the wealth generating areas sought to align with rUK, as Shetland and Orkney are already fixing to do.

Well for the first time in my life I went to bed at 11.45 on 31.12 with a blinding headache most likely from BrexitCrap/Covidkrap, there were no fireworks here either just a fizzle into the new year. I had always seen in the new year live before yesterday. I was honestly so sad about the whole blooming thing.
But I woke up today with no headache and feeling fresh and looking forward to a better 2021. Life goes on eh?
Seriously a happy future to all on both sides of the moaning fence.

EHIC card or appropriate travel insurance,

  • show a return or onward ticket
  • show you have enough money for your stay
  • use separate lanes from EU, EEA and Swiss citizens when queueing
  • I reckon I can cope with that^
I'm sure you can cope. But if these hindrances had been imposed by the EU can you honestly say you would be taking the same cheery attitude?

Happy New Year to you and yours also. We are where we are and, I'll predict (just the same as I did correctly that Johnson would sell out the fishermen...and why has Gove therefore not resigned) that now we are no longer negotiating with the EU "bloc" that we'll have within twenty months free movement of persons deals in no particular order with one or all of France and/or Spain, Portugal and, possibly, Belgium and maybe the Netherlands an likely very much Luxembourg.

I feel you may have forgotten a little something..............

The people voted to LEAVE, the people did not negotiate the terms.

When I started my business (at least the successful one), I could do every job within the Company.

As it grew in size and sophistication I became more and more marginalised in terms of relevant skill sets.

I think we are in danger of surrendering our independence to others that possess skill sets upon which we have become dependent

Corporate globalisation, Chinese com collective control or EU’isms

They are all variations of a theme of totalitarianism

I have always believed in the freedom and responsibility of the individual

Happy Independence Day everyone 👍

It is correct that the UK has not recovered 100% of our sea fisheries on Day One. There is a phased return over 5.5 years to allow both sides to reorganise. The UK industry could not have utilised a total return overnight because they simply do not have the capacity to do so. Likewise the EU industry will need time to readjust. There is a scheme to assist in the rebuilding of the industry following it's decline since joining the EU that the UK Government will be promoting, and surprise surprise the SNP are kicking off and complaining already that they should be administering the scheme in respect of Scottish fisheries. To suggest the fisheries have been "sold down the river" is misleading. In large scale negotiations both sides have to make some compromises, let's face it if you buy a vehicle from a dealer there are compromises each way: both dealer and buyer negotiate on price, trade in value, accessories etc and either reach a compromise or walk away.

I see we are not alone, Brendan O'Neill's description of the EU:-

Neo-Liberal, Anti Working Class, Anti Democratic Oligarchy, look at what it did to the people of Greece, the people of Ireland in 2010 enforcing austerity when it effectively took over, overrode votes in France and the Netherlands and anyone who argues with the EU is trampled on and ignored, whilst the EU does whatever it wants to do anyway, the EU is a poisonous institution and I am glad we are no longer a member

Don't forget Denmark, their 'opportunity to reconsider' was all too symptomatic of the EU's anti-democratic mission.

The sexist tax on tampons has been removed from 15%

Under the EU we could not go below 5%

It is now zero

Happy to post one advantage per day whilst you post one disadvantage
The proof of the pudding...that tampon tax would have cost the average woman in her lifetime but £40...is if the Tories will remove the VAT that they (Ken Clarke) imposed on domestic gas and electricity. Then claimed that they then couldn't remove it below 5% because of the EU. So when's that getting removed now we are out fully? It's all smoke and mirrors to divert attention from that 5% on home energy costs.
