Even £2,000 for a pup is only about £250 a year over its ‘useful’ life.
Weekly threads moaning about the prove isn’t going to make a difference. We advertised a young cocker recently for strong money and it was a tidal wave of enquiries, she ended up going to a great home for a bit less but a lot more than we would have expected 2 years ago.
If you are looking to buy a dog now - either find the money or find someone who is selling cheap, those are your options other than not buying a dog but I can’t see prices falling to 2019 values any time soon.
You could also breed a Bitch of your own and sell the pups and less than half market price and deal with all the enquiries and pain in the arse that comes with pups.
