Great to see a topic like this. People go on about micro plastics in the sea etc which I agree are just awful - I wonder how much of it comes out every time we do our washing? Natural products are great because when we're done with them they just rot back to nature. The first I saw of it was one of my old bosses jeans in his compost bin! I hadn't considered it as a teenager but it all started to make sense at that point.

I'm after a nice fleece with full length zip. Getting frustrated because a lot of them seem to be about 60% wool and the rest plastic. Any suggestions out there? I'm about to read the most recent links, not done that yet so forgive me if it's already there.

I too have recently rediscovered wool after a lifetime of using ‘technical’ garments. One item that I came across by accident is the Dutch Army Fleece 80% wool and made under contract by a number of manufacturers including Helly Hansen for the Dutch MoD. They cost sub £25 on eBay or via surplus stores. Well worthy of consideration.
 
Swanndri, the ultimate farm wear. First bought one in NZ back in the seventies. Fabulous, warm in winter, cool in summer, reasonably waterproof with High lanolin content. Now made in china, thinner, non waterproof, & bad tight fit. Such a shame.

Yep, I've still got and wear a zip fronter bush shirt bought in 1993 to replace my bush shirt which was pretty much wrecked, it's streets ahead of the new ones. My wife bought me a ranger shirt 2 years ago, it's a poor imitation of the old ones I have, such a shame they've ended up like this.
