Online renewal link for photo and medical check.

Hi all, I'm doing my renewal tomorrow not to good with Tec stuff could someone give me some pre information on the link that they send for the photo and medical check will I need to get a printer or scanner to send these items. Many thanks.

I did mine month or so ago. As for medical check I only ticked a box to say I gave consent to contact my doctor along with all the usual contact info. As for the photo. I used a phone app that has all the lines like you get in a photo booth and gets rid of the background and some of the shadows (not perfect but clearly my ugly mug) and sent that as an attachment. The actual online form wasn’t the easiest to navigate but after reading a through fair few times all was fine

Take a selfie with your phone and download to computer, attach to e-mail by using the 'attach' button at the top of the e-mail. As for medical a tick should do. Its likely but not certain that no response from the doc will get you through.

There's no memory on the on-line application form so if you leave the site everything is lost & you have to start again.
It's all submitted on-line so you don't need a scanner.
You can take a photo of your GP letter & attach it to your application

I think it's possible to still do your renewal the old fashioned way. But maybe that depends on where you are. And even then, getting a new photo is a major task. The photo booths all seem to be closed (we would have to disinfect them after every use, they say) and of course photography shops aren't essential so they are closed too. I did my son's photo for his shotgun cert and it took a good while faffing about with photo software on the computer to get it printed something like the right size. But they accepted it, saying it was a lot better than some of the abortions they had received. I shall have to have a look at that phone app Sterry.

Thanks all, tried and failed miserably yesterday was on there 2 1\2 hours I found it quite difficult there was nowhere to list my mods or I could not find it so put them down as other, finally got to the end now just got to upload photo hit the button and lost the f###ing lot, whether they like it or not I'm posting it tomorrow

With mods you just put them down as a firearm. I agree it’s hardly the slickest of systems....no doubt was tendered out to the lowest bidder yet still an eye watering sum of money.

The trick I found was list everything beforehand in a way you can do it on the online form as you go so you're not hunting around for different details.
I did my coterminous a couple of months ago after being warned to get in early with the doctor for their report. Thankfully I listened to that advice and chased the doctor until the report was in my hand.
Go through it methodically. Put only what they ask for. You can take the pic of yourself on your phone and submit that.
It took me a long time to fill out both forms but seeing as how Hants returned my certs nearly a month before they were due to expire, it helped.
