Firearms renewal

I received my renewal pack a few weeks ago from Norfolk firearms, for the new FAC & shotgun licence renewal, you have wade through far more forms to fill in, give details of where the firearms will be used as before, names of land owner etc, reason needed to own firearms or shotguns. The paper work is far greater than before. My wife and I are still trying to work through getting things in order, any one also found the renewal far more demanding. I can see anyone without land to shoot on for one reason or another having their licence revoked, so join a clay club asap if you have limited land to shoot on. I have had to disclose far more health issues, and, as I have Crones this is not an issue. Anyone else in Norfolk had a renewal recently and found it far more penetrating. deerwarden

I'm with Kent for mine and just recently renewed my fac and sgc together, there is an option for online renewal, I'm not techy but it was pretty painless I must say, even the doctors letter (£30.00 ) done and dusted in three days, all by electronic methods

Got a letter back to say that due to covid they have extended my certificate by 2 months to expire end of March, had a 30 mins chat with my local FEO and received my ticket a week after that couldn't have worked out or been easier

There is no reason needed to own S2 shotguns, so the clay club recommendation you're making is irrelevant. You could just as easily put down that you take the occasional beaters day, or shoot as a guest occasionally on a shoot, and not give any details beyond that.

The only form legally required to renew an FAC or SGC is form 201
Any forms they give you where you fill in land owner, species permitted etc are NOT a legal requirement.
If you have at least one permission letter, or can prove that you have booked stalks, then that's all you need
Edit - You may also need a letter from a GP confirming that you don't suffer from any of the medical conditions listed on form 201.

Cheers

I renewed my SGC with Norfolk before Christmas, and had to wait a little while as they are having staffing difficulties (which was explained to me by my FEO).
I also asked for a one centrefire variation at the same time which presented no problems. No home visit was required.
The latest forms are slightly different but I don't think any extra information is required. I have been under Norfolk for many years and have never been asked to complete any extra forms apart from the standard 201 (grant) and 202 (variation).
