Tried lead free

Just allow for developing a decent load.
I'm going to once I've time Finn tbh I bought a couple of boxes today just to play and had my initial plan scuppered by listening to our local ballistic expert lol I should of just gone with what I originally planned and bought a box of my usual to tide me over

We don't have to comply with any law yet my shot game is used by me and friends and family i was just trying it out tbh I personally can't see the problem.if your consuming it yourself is there actually any know case of anyone being poisoned from eating lead shot game ive even yet to poison my dogs with it and they eat loads of bullet damaged meat and bones
Indeed but the suggestion to carry non toxic shot but shoot lead was for duck.

Does punctuation increase your grouping if not im not all to interested but thanks for your concern it means a lot.
No, punctuation doesn't improve your grouping but it makes your posts more readable and easier to understand - resulting in you getting more sensible answers
BTW, I understand that passing a grammar and punctuation test will soon be a requirement for all FAC and SGC applications.

Cheers

I get good results now in my 30.06 150g(lead) Hopefully this' Sunday, I can TRY some 150g FOX BULLETS I bought off here recently. With the above comments, I am not that eager to get disappointed! You have to try these things for ones self though, or how would you deal with a lead ban, if suddenly thrust upon you?:scared:

BC.

Please may I take this opportunity to thank all who have commented regarding the non lead issue.I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone whom I've upset by my poor grammar use but there is more to life than a few full stops lads in the grand scheme of things dont you think. We are here for a good time not a long time stop trying to pick faults with folk as there will be things you can't do that others can and vice versa.

I have 18 inch barrel on my tikka t3x I shoot federal 150s in lead free no zero change from lead if anything I shoot or should I say the lead free shoot a tighter group than lead also have good results with 150 fox lead free too :tiphat:

I am using 150 TSX in my .300 WSM going around 3124FPS. I have always found the non-lead easy to get shooting when hand loading, with the 150s it took 10 shots as a velocity ladder test, then 9 shots exploring three possible nodes, one of which had an ES of 10 and an SD of 5.4. It shot the following group (please forgive me the 3 shots group is less than ideal but my barrel gets incredibly hot if I try shoot 15 rounds in quick succession, 9 rounds is more manageable).
This is a factory barrelled action, my other rifles both shoot much better with the non lead than this one, with those two churning out 0.25MOA groups as standard.
I wouldn’t say it is the non-lead causing the grouping issues, but maybe just the rifle doesn’t quite match the ammo/chargeweight behind them.

Ben

Modern primers use lead styphnate as the main explosive. Can you recommend a source of lead free primers so we can make truly lead free ammo?

have a read of https://www.ruag.com/system/files/m...Leistungsbroschuere_12s_f2_01_Interactive.pdf

Looks like all of the RUAG stable of ammo is now use lead free priming compounds.

And also this document - looks like lead styphnate has pretty much been phased out of use for a number of years.

Thanks for that. Which of the commercially available primers for reloading are lead free?

Not sure, but suggest that most now in the market are lead free, and certainly any of the European RUAG products - ie RWS, Norma etc.

Chill out mate. To ask a question about ammunition and then start abusing someone who has forgotten more about the subject than you will ever know is not really the way to go IMO. Your posts are hard to read with no punctuation and that's a fact. Muir certainly isn't a troll either.

I am well known as someone who relentlessly trolls members of the Stalking
So please explain the findings within this article https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ajh.25731 which shows a clear correlation between higher levels of heavy metals in the blood and leaukaemia - we
