Vhit N160 max load with 143gr ELDX in Creedmoor please.

Good morning.
I know that the Vhit data is quite conservative.
If anyone has the time and quick load I would very much appreciate a max load data for the above using Lapua small rifle primer brass with CCI 450 primers. I will be loading towards this. But I would like to know where the limit in theory is.
Thanks

Thanks very much Gixer. If anyone can give the specifics for the above that would be very helpful.

If your using small rifle primer cases, then you will need to up the charge by 1 to 1.5grains over what the book max says, usual caveats apply, I done this on Laurie Hollands advice, I was developing a 139gr Lapua Scenar load, so very similar to what you are doing, i was looking for 2700FPS on the max book charge I was achieving only 2500fps and the case were not obturating properly, so i put up all the info I had and Laurie answered it in his usual expert knowledge and he was right on the money, I ended up with a load that shoots 0.3moa running 2723fps with 44 gr of N160. Obviously this is with my Rifle, yours could will be different.

Only you will be able to make that determination at the firing line. QL gives you a theoretical number for 'max'. Your rifle, and what you feed it will tell you what max really is.~Muir
(And along that line of thought, Vhit's data is only 'conservative' when your rifle tells you so.)(JMHO)

Does this help?

Cheers

Remember QL (or any of the predictive systems) is the equivalent of a SWAG (Scientific Wild Arsed Guess)

Can't beat the Mk one eyeball and real life obs

PS - bring it over and we can put the magneto on it and do some testing

Quickload is good, but unfortunately it doesn't have an option for changing the brand, type or size of primers. Case volume is also a critical parameter with regard to pressure and that varies from brand to brand and even case to case. I have used the Maximum Case Capacity Overflow, which helps, but as usual it's best to be conservative and work up in small increments looking for pressure signs and heavy bolt lift.
