Swarovski Z6i vs Meopta Meostar R2

Over here it is simple. The extra money goes on low light performance. End of.
Dont get me wrong, I am a big Meopta fan, I’ve had three, but all said and done the swaro gives you that little extra few minutes at dusk.
you have to decide it you want to pay the extra for those minutes.

Daytime, I would happily have a Meopta And keep the money.

Yes sir you are absolutely correct Swarovski is better hence the price. My video is just showing that they are very very close. For double the price you might get 5 extra minutes but both scopes will take you way past legal light. The illumination in Swarovski is very high tech but not something I need or value.
All my binoculars are Swarovski and most of my scopes are Swarovski and S&B. But Meopta is bargain for the price.
Also from my personal experience Meopta takes care of their customers so I am not worried about that.
All people who are buying leupold VX6 and zeiss V6 should definitely buy Meopta. But if you want absolute best then buy Zeiss V8 and Swarovski Z8i. If Swarovski drops the price of Z6 down to as low as Zeiss V6 then I will be all over it again. Swarovski Z6i should be priced between $1500 to $1800 now.

Some difference here may be that you are in the US which sets legal hunting as 30min before/after sunrise/set I believe but I may be wrong?

Here in the UK its 60min before/after so invariably low light performance is of more interest to us... especially in winter as 60min past sunset is pitch black !

Cheers
Mike

Also less than 1% people can afford flagship scopes from Swarovski and Zeiss.
But a ton of animals are hunted in USA by people who use less than $500 scopes and rifles.
Those cheaper scopes are sufficient for type of hunting done in USA.
And I think if you hunt for hogs and coyotes in the night then night vision is the way to go.
