Bringing rifle parts back from the USA

Thinking of picking up a Timney trigger in the USA and bringing it home or a family member is happy to post it to me does anybody know if it's a problem?

It's not a licensable part, so theoretically no.

Bought two TriggerTech triggers from Sweden (through Sphur), all paperwork done properly bit still had to fill out an import declaration and provide a copy of my FAC, and pay taxes and charges of course.

Don't disbelieve you but why would they ask for a fac for a trigger unit? Are they a controlled item in Sweden?

Last time I checked ITAR it may have changed but triggers were an ITAR item
No issue from uk side but technically if the TSA folk checking your bag knows their stuff it is not an exportable item from THE US without the right paperwork you'll be in bother

No, this was asked for when it arrived into the UK. Despite the nice man from Sphur writing 'This is NOT a licensable part' on the customs declaration.

Friend of mine imported a set of rings and bases. Customs would not release without proof of FAC. There was no debate to be had.

Having lived in the US for a while, the situation with ITAR items can be gray to say the least.

I tended to stay well clear of anything remotely griefy when I was travelling to and fro. TSA aren’t known for applying discretion and you don’t want to be sharing a holding cell whilst it’s all sorted out if you know what I mean.
