Good day at the Game Fair Ragley Hall yesterday and I think my partner and I had the best of the predicted weather.

Highlights
Great to see the New Grenadier in the flesh it looks impressive, guy on the stand said they hope to be in full production next year and they would start around £45K they are going to “ partner” with someone regarding servicing and spares, be interesting to see who that is

Gunmakers row was good, lots of shotgun makers including some top end Holland and Holland, Longthorne, Boss, also Rigby with a big stand

Pulsar with a big stand and lots of stuff to physically look through, their new series 2 top end scopes are astonishing in detail compared with my XQ38F spotter

A few car and 4X4 displays including 2 Ford 150 pick ups in full off road mode with about 3 ft of ground clearance !!

Lots of gadget guys s usual and a few small bespoke knife makers

Food choice was excellent as were the bars dotted around

Disappointing
No top end Glass guys there, Swaro, Zeiss, S&B NF nor much mid range stuff

Not many rifle manufacturers showing, GMK not there so nothing they import

Overall Good day stayed till gone 6 to let traffic go and easy journey back

I meant to add for those looking to treat themselves Holland and Holland had a set of 3 matching beautifully engraved bolt action rifles that came with matching carrying boxes, they were stunning, calibers were 243, 300wm and 375 so they cover a range of game. ( How long before someone asks if H&H could swap the 243 for a 6.5 Creedmoor)

The rifles were Price On Application, I didn’t both to ask

The H&H were lovely, more interesting were the Board 22 based on CZ/BRNO actions, lovely rifles and closer to affordable 🎉
Board 22 - sounds interesting- please tell us more.

In the mid to late 1800’s H&H made their reputation selling Rook Rifles in quite high volumes. Many were made in the trade and finished by them. And over the years they have done many “shot & regulated by h&H” - ie good quality but affordable that they have then put the finishing touches to.

Nice Morning there Friday looking for a pulsar 22 hand held all the same price as all the other trade , while there I rang my local dealer and asked how much for a key 22 rang me back £720 so I left the fair ? on the way out I stopped again at Pulsar stand and ask why can a small gun sell me the same item they cant cheaper being Pulsar direct ?? the mark up must large in the first place ?? same old same old UK rip off UK .

GMK are here. They are in a shoe box size stand opposite the Rigby set up (probably why you missed them!) They (GMK) have the new Benelli Lupo rifle on the display but not much else tbf.
Regards

Has Rigby got the Series 1 land rover on their stand? It has been shown on every show for years now, it belonged to one of their employees. Rigby is Blaser anyway.

Sorry the 22 are Bozard - spell check 👿

Restocked, larger safety's, Talley mounts with bases like a double bridge Mauser and colour case hardened actions.

Thanks, Greenman I stand corrected, must have been a small set up as I spent time in the Rigby tent and then walked over the aisle to the H&H stand, clearly small GKN budget this year!!! What was your view of the Lupo seen the adverts

Lipo, apparently a metal chassis but the foreend flexes. Think it I had to choose it with be a tikka as a budget rifle from GMK.

Swaro and ZEISS haven’t been at the Game fair for a few year, from my experience, Blaser are not there and they have a Uk base.
over all i was impressed with what was there considering the possibility that it could have all been cancelled at a moments notice.
