Harry Redknapp shouted at me to 'p iss off' when I reached through his fence to take a cutting from one of his plants in Sandbanks a few years ago.

Tony Butler (Big Country) gave me a string from his bass when it broke as he was tuning between songs at the Barrowlands in 1983 (I think).

I was Alison Philpott's first. I know I've already mentioned that, but I think it's worth bringing up again 🥳😆

I think it might have been 1984 for the Barrow lands gig. I had the "pleasure" of speaking to Stuart Adamson, the lead singer after arresting one of the locals who had broken into his white Audi Quattro during the concert.

You're probably right. I remember it being absolutely amazing though. They were my favourite band of the time, and truth be told I don't think there's been anyone to touch them since, Not even Runrig in my view. Stuart Adamson was very a sad loss indeed
 
Won a competition to go backstage and meet the band at Carnegie hall, also attended and was in the live audience so sang on the recording of the EP “the crossing” at RAK studio’s in 2012, my missus has a mention on the credits on the album

Yup, I was saddened when I heard of his death. He was a nice big guy and would have throttled the little scroat who tanned his car! I saw most of the gig that night and they were fantastic.
I was the beat man for around the Glasgow Cross area and covered the Barras.
I went to all the concerts when I was working and would return to socialise when I went off duty. Met some real characters, great company and met a couple of absolute tossers. (That's a whole new thread)
I loved standing outside and watching the entire ground floor roller shutters moving in and out due to the audience bouncing up and down above. It was as if the entire building was breathing in and out.

It was a fantastic atmosphere, I remember
 
Spoke to the queen two years in a row, she used to come with Prince Philip to a large local shoot once a year. The queen would bring gun dogs and I walked up to take the birds from her as I was a very young dogman ( My dad picked up there as well) I remembered to refer to her as Ma‘am
 
Diana Ross came down off stage at a concert and sang “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” to me while holding my hand.

I sat there open mouthed the whole time with my wife laughing her head off next to me.
 
Loaded for then , younger King Hussain of Jordan ,Jack Chalton and countless lords .Best shot I ever saw was a one armed Lord Stafford who regularly had 3 birds dead in the air at any one time ,some feat though even with two arms .
Had young Prince Harry on the back of a quad out hunting with the Beaufort and told to lose paparazzi along with two other quads of unknown riders .Easily managed as expected and shook hands with a very excited Harry when back in his own company .
Several encounters with Royalty whilst shooting near a not so well known escape house in our neck of the woods 🤓
 
My Granddad's Cousin was Wallace Hartley, Bandmaster on the Titanic. My Paternal line originate from Colne in Lancashire. There is a memorial to Wallace there.

Clive Hornby who played Jack Sugden in Emmerdale was a member of same shooting club as me. He was a really nice bloke. If anyone remembers, he always wore a BASC badge when he was on the telly.

When i was a nipper we had some family friends who were, at least to me, incredibly posh. They had retired to the countryside. His name was Desmond Jeans. His sister was Ursula Jeans of old black and white films fame. His brother in law was Roger Livesey ( The life and death of Colonel Blimp). David Niven would occasionally visit but i never met him. My claims are very tenuous but that is all i have.
 
I accidentally hit Ralph McTell with a fire door in a hotel.
As a bobby i had to investigate a well known ex soap star after he drove off from a pub while a passenger was still getting out of the back of his car. (She broke her arm)
Also as a bobby, told most of the cast of Hollyoaks to shut up, shouting and screaming outside a rural pub... i didn't know who they were and didn't care... noisy g*ts!!
My crowning glory was appearing on the front of a local newspaper, raising awareness of fuel theft... i was standing next to an oil tank for the pic, and later realised my fly was open!!! 😁
My wife met Prince Charles and appeared on a tv program he was in. She also met astronauts Tim Peak and Alan Bean (now deceased, he walked on the moon).
