Ivermectin, for the interested

Well, we will at least hopefully end up, if none the wiser, then at least better informed.
Just as an initial point in need of clarification, do you care to clarify whether you accept the modes of function of ivermectin at all, not at all, or partially, in respect of its ‘interaction’ with SARS COV 2?
I accept that in the test tube, at massively elevated dosages, it does inhibit COVID activity (as would 100% alcohol, bleach, strong acids, plutonium etc).

As to if it has any valid effect whatsoever in vivo at a dose that wouldn't lead to serious side effects? I'm far from convinced. But I am open to be proven wrong by a double blinded trial without glaring errors that both shares the nitty gritty of their trial process and is replicable by third parties. The same standard of evidence that other therapeutic interventions pass, effectively.

The almost zealous way the health officials have gone after Ivermectin bothers me a lot. The choice should be between the patient and the doctor. The government stepping in like this is way over the top.

For what's it worth from someone that has used Ivermectin for a tad over 30 years I certainly wouldn't be injecting any into myself. We've always used it on our hunting dogs and stock on the farm, I've even dosed a lot of wild pigs before release back into the wild.Even with animals it isn't 100 % reliable for worm control we've always used it in conjunction with proper worming tablets. But it does give a very quick short term result to boost a animal that is full of parasites. It quickly enters the animals blood system after injecting and if you tie a dog up that has fleas within 10 minutes you can watch the fleas abandoning ship.I was always told by the old experienced vets make sure I don't jab myself it can make you feel sick.So bottom line is, it's not 100 % effective on common parasites so I'd be very supprised if it's useful on a virus in humans...just my 2 cents worth from a longtime user of Ivermectin

Me too.
The fact is , this condemnation of it is hardly universal, some countries , even EU ones , and many western doctors have agreed to supply it , and notice its beneficial effects on covid, are they all wrong ?
Yet others have condemned it as satans sweat !

The internet by and large censors positive discussion on its human uses regards covid, and the MSM wither ignores it or treats it like snake oil.
Usually followed by ... get vaccinated if you already havent .....

Longer than long-covid...
Thank you for the link, but my security settings won't allow me to read this without passing a CAPTCHA test.
I can read SD, and news media sites who don't erect 'Paywalls' without such bother, so what are people to do?;)

He’s right that the trust that should be between the politicos and their people has gone. He says nothing of how the drug works and prevents replication of the virus, though I expect nothing so obvious by the BBC, just nannying. Funny how they dropped the Covid in India story like a het tattie when ivermectin was introduced there, delta variant and all… no mention of the death rate in the UK being 5 times greater for double vaccinated than unvaccinated either, incuriously enough. Even less about the likelihood of death of/by Covid being your personal outcome being one in one hundred thousand among ones peers.

The Australians are getting the same nanny knows best treatment:

Protestors were out yesterday. 1300 construction union members holding up the whole city because the health department is closing their tea rooms and the Government is going to remove their essential worker status unless the employers force them to have one jab. The unions got the government into power rolled on this but forgot to ask their members.

Meanwhile today the Government has mobilized 2000 police with riot squad to stop any freedom marches as super spreader events by the health orders. They have shutdown all trains, trams, buses and taxis to the city.

We are going to hell in a basket based on the best medical advice to eliminate the virus.

Best thing is , youve barely got any cases/deaths . and virtually closed borders !

An experiment in what a populace will accept when it comes to loss of freedoms ?

Meanwhile, in ‘darkest Africa’ where the vaccination level is currently below one percent of the population being vaccinated (see comparison graph below), Tanzania (population 58 million, ie roughly comparable to England) seems to be coping ‘rather well’ - in absolute terms, ‘better than most‘ against this scourge. Could the widespread use of Ivermectin among the population taken against parasite-borne illnesses there have anything to do with this? 🤔

It might.

Of course this set of data might also be explainable by the fact that the president of Tanzania Mr Magufuli has publicly stated that his government has no confidence in the COVID tests, has refused to release complete or accurate figures on cases, hospital admissions, deaths or the provision of testing to his populace, refused to reveal their procedure for attributing deaths and is desperately trying to prevent his borders being closed to trade and tourism due to pandemic concerns. He's also the man who suggested to his people that they should 'pray the coronavirus away' and recommended the use of a totally unproven herbal remedy imported from Madagascar.

Not an ideal situation for clear and unbiased reporting of cases in country I'd think. Plus of course it's Africa, so evn if the government was 100% on board with testing, coverage would still be spotty and data capture and communication shaky.

Britains' official COVID figures would look far more rosy if we simply didn't test for it or report any cases after all...

Ahah! That’s it, well done by jove. Shows them for what they are, damned dictators who rig elections in a bally banana republic, producing ridiculous stats and theories, what? Those Johnnies on the dark continent have really let things slide since we left ‘em. Herbal remedies? Good lord, it will be jujus next!! Send over a few Sopwiths and bomb the buggers, I say.
Crikey chaps that could never, ever happen in the sainted old UK now could it?
Err, on reflection, I have it on good authority from a missionary somewhere in the Tropic of Alba that a certain Kim Yong from a distant galaxy, far away, somewhere north of Carlisle, seems to be following precisely the same course. Dashed concerning, what? Start the engines chaps, guns ready, tally ho……
