As title, what is the lagest calibre you can use for lamping ?? (foxes) I am sure I was told once that a .243 was the largest ?? is this true.

i hope not i use my .270 for foxing as at the moment its the only rifle i own i have a variation gone in for a few other calibres but the foxes have never complained :D

My .444 is cleared for fox as well as deer and wild boar and for use on pest and vermin:smug:

That's brilliant!

Like flytie I have Fox conditioned on my 6.5x55. You've probably twigged there isn't one legal max, although you do here of some FLOs talking about the infamous "overkill"! The question of what is the largest calibre you SHOULD lamp with however tends to spark some interesting debate!

Believe it or not my 375 H&H is on my ticket for deer and fox. Not that I have used it for either at present as it is the rifle I use in Africa or Finland :D

i live in wiltshire whom are generaly very good with my rifles but they did get a little upset when they found out i was lamping with my .308, and just like you all i said well it does state i can use it for fox as well as deer and they then explained that they will now not allow any rifle over .22-250 to be granted just for use on foxes and that when its on your ticket for deer and fox its only for if you see a fox whilst stalking. well if this is the case and to be honest i dont think it is there are a lot of people not using there rifles in accordance with there conditions due to the rules not being properly explained

Well i have Fox at the moment on my .243 and will apply for Deer on there after the weekend ( FEO wants paid stalking day on reciept before he grants deer on FAC )

Pretty sure its .308 minimum for lamping deer........that maybe FC, sure someone will correct me if wrong:lol:
