Is anyone familiar with the cartridge?
I mostly know how it performs, but is there way to form brass for it or is it totally liable on factory brass? As RWS told me they dont offer 6.5x65 brass anymore and its out of catalogs, so is it riding on a dead horse?
I could have very good deal on one, but if there is no way to get brass for it, it is just a stupid move to make.

Quality cracker..go for it.

This OZZIE is ambitious with pricing ffs.

Unless you are enamored of the rifle itself, you aren't getting a good deal. Brass, dies.... It all adds up. As you spend all that money you get to hope that the rifle shoots once you get it all set up. ~Muir

If you can find ammo, and or cases, or ascertain how to make cases - can you neck down 270, 30-06, 7x64 etc then why not, especially if its priced to sell and its a nice rifle. Factor in cost and challenge of finding dies etc. - expect you may have to import from Germany / Austria. And if all makes sense then why not?

many will say just get a 270 or 6.5 Creedmoor- but what is the fun in that?

The 6.5x65 being a proprietary calibre is probably the reason for such a good deal. It's a stretched-body .30-06 class cartridge you can't form from anything which was never going anywhere. RWS has form for developing dead ducks. They still show this in their latest online catalogue, but it's not popular enough to justify them developing a lead-free product for it. That means it's moribund, and any rifles are destined for auction at knockdown prices. On reading threads like this I think maybe it's a blessing that there are only the classic calibres around in rifles suited to me.

The 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x55, 6.5x57, and 6.5x68 are all available in the Evo Green 93gr. There are plenty of newer 6.5mm cartridges waiting in the wings. If you fancy something different why not wait for one of these. You'll get just as good a bargain, as the names behind them are scrabbling for a foothold in a crowded field. . . .
