Just picking up on reloading and was thinking of reloading .223 ammunition at 55gr starting. What would the advise be on the primers and Powders to use ? I am sure this has been done efficiently many times before.
On the die to use has anyone experienced any issues with the Lee Precision Ultimate Die Set .223 Rem

Advise and direction on this would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

CFE223 is your friend....

Pick your bullet, I recommend sierra #1590 for vermin/deer

Cci small primer are good. You could also use federal, remington or sellier bellot. All good primer brands

Trim cases to length once. No need to uniform flash primer.

Look at sierra load data, also Vihtavuori and other powder makers you may choose

I use RS40 powder & CCI BR4 Primers with lapua brass throwing a 60gr STMK with good results.

Load data for RS powders are a bit thin on the ground as its a relatively new powder although Reload Swiss will run a quickload program for you if you supply them with your components, a nice touch from a company!

CFE223 and CCI BR4 with Starline brass 55grn Sierra Blitz king, that projectile is very frangible so if you decide to shoot deer with it you may have problems with penetration. Works fine on assorted vermin.

Get, read and study a reloading book..
Then find out what you can buy locally.
Pick the bullet you are going to use, the manufacturer of powder doesn't matter as long as you use the recommended type and load data.

N133 BL4 primer 24.8 with a 52 grain v max better than 55 grain sorry work up to that load
You mean 50, 53, or 55 grain? They don’t make 52 grain, that would have been a-max or eld if they replaced them with the new line.

BR4 primers are good, but not necessarily worth the extra cost over CCI 400 unless you are running higher pressure loads to take advantage of the thicker cup.
