Trying to import Taxidermy from Romania to the UK

Hi, not sure if anybody has tried to bring trophies back from Europe / Romania since Brexit?
I have 4 crates to bring back from Olanesti Romania to South Wales, had some prices but seem expensive (€3k to €5k), however, regardless of the cost it appears to be extremely complicated documentation which has taken 2 months to finally get together, which has the potential to be rejected but the various country boarders I'm lead to believe.
Does anybody know anybody able to collect & Delivery these please?

I have a Chamois trophy from Austria, that is now in Germany. Its just a scull mount. I will bring back in the car next time I am over there.

I am afraid gone are the days when it was all straight forward and simple. So much for the promise of free trade and simple movement of goods etc. The only ones who win are freight forwarders, import agents and those who make clipboards.

And with Princess Nut Nut in charge anything trophy related will attract extra attention.

Hello, if you can get it to Hungary and it’s crated I have a courier company that can do it .
Pm me for details or your number and I’ll give you a ring and explain. Cheap, fast and no customs fees.

I would imagine it needs to be checked by a vet before it leaves and when it arrives. The prices you have sound very high.
Will be inspection, customs and vat to pay when it arrives.
Should be no issues with stops in Europe as it’s free trade until it hits Dover

3 years ago when i8 asked my SA friend and PH to send some warthog tusks. First of all it was a fee in SA from a taxidermist to clean and certificate them cost was about £120.00 . Then if they were shipped to the UK ( cant remember that cost ) there would be a vet inspection !!!! several hundered pounds quoted.

This was for some clean teeth, they were gleaming Colgate bright.

No cites involved with warthogs so next time i was over just put them in my luggage wrapped in some cloth. No problems.

just had a black bear shipped from Montreal to London.
Cost was …… £1470 inc shipping, vets and handling fees.
I then had to pay the import agent here

Expensive job

I think it was Beardy Russell that was all full of pretend indignation because that tart shot a goat. Tried to get it banned but the SNP need folk to whack the deer so he was ignored.

Beardy completely missed the point that she had shot Bertie Big Ba's the black faced tup which was not on the approved species list last time I looked.

Anyway he is GONE boy...

So….
We’ve established a vet inspection needs to take place , but why ?
Always has from outside of Europe . They establish what species it is, if it’s cites, and in the case of skulls if it was cleaned properly.

Europe you could send anything to anywhere and needed nothing unless it was a cites animal.
Now we left the Eu we have to abide soon to same rules are importation/ exportation as if where sending to Russia or USA etc

We now need vet inspections for loads of products. Any animal bi product import or export needs a vet inspection. It is incredibly difficult to export animal food right now due to brexit.
In terms of taxidermy the vet will confirm the species and somehow that it hasn’t been illegally hunted etc.
