What really gets your goat?

Women who seem to think it's necessary to wear deodorant, perfume ...
I remember as a young man passing a mature lady in the street; as we passed I got an overwhelming dose of her Eau de toilette, that literally brought tears to my eyes. Must be forty years ago, and I can still "taste" the smell of it in the back of my throat when I call it to mind.

Thanks to your post, it is there now...

They seem to use the cheapest stink juice to just have done something, sticks in my throat too.
Now if you go to the top floor gallery in the Lafayette department store in Paris you will get an education on how good they can make the stuff smell.

I don't know what it's got to do with "woke" (whatever that's supposed to mean exactly), but in most respects I'd rather be going forward than going back!
(Except for this getting older malarkey. I wouldn't mind turning the clock back a bit there!)
Sadly so true, getting older, don't do it, there is no future in it.

Neil.

Bad manners. Watching tv adverts when they don’t remove vests / t shirts to shave or clean teeth or wash . Having been taught to shave @ 16 during my Royal Marines training that’s a definite no no. 🤬

Intersting you say this, I have had a couple of customers who had quite adverse reactions to a great many 20th & 21st century chemicals, including parfums, suffering badly from this debilitating condition as you may infer. Both were completely unaffected by eating roe venison, I’m happy to report, which must be some sort of testament as to the ‘cleanliness’ of the meat, as they were both affected by various other processed ‘foodstuffs’.

The indifference (as demonstrated by the singular lack of meaningful physical action by the West) to destruction of the Rain Forest.

K

Agreed.

Watch too, what happens to global heathland, and the 90% of which that we in Gt Britain are fortunate to enjoy, which, per acre is even better at carbon capture than the rain forest. A bit short of parrots, capybara, pumas and orangutans mind, but well managed instances show very high levels of biodiversity of rare and threatened ground nesting birds. Including the red grouse, a species unique to our shores. All lives matter.

Best we lead by example and conserve our own environments before intervening in other countries, though I of course agree that our lack of effective persuasion of others as to the need to prevent destruction of all our ecosystems (including the steady poisoning of the air and waters) will eventually become something of ‘a thing’, a little before the End.

Raving nutters that pursue political ideologies based on only emotion and retoric.
...Less so the manipulative dealers ( politicians) that peddle the stuff
.....than the foolish trash that lap it up and are too blinded by promises and easy fixes that they swallow the lies time after time.

So true why is policy driven by politics not by facts and analysis?!
