I never said he was jailed for shooting someone.Anthony Hughes was never jailed for the shooting of the Police Officers.
He shot himself dead with the same firearm he use to kill and wound the Police Officers.
After a manhunt, the gunman, later identified as Anthony Hughes from Baguley, was traced to a garage in Kendray, South Yorkshire. When officers entered they found Hughes' body; he had killed himself with the same gun used in the attack on Codling and Bowden. No motive was ever established for the attack, except that Hughes had previously carried out a series of armed robberies, had served 15 years in prison for a string of violent offences, and had indicated his desire to kill a police officer following an earlier court appearance for a minor offence for which he was fined.
@Conor O'GormanHey @Triton thank's for reminding me to update the community
The PCC's office have responded to acknowledge my email and to say that they are looking into things further.
My MP's office has responded to say that they will wait until they have received more information from the police.
GMP (I directed my email to the chief constable) have not yet offered any acknowledgement or response.
BASC have not yet offered any acknowledgement or response. (Does anyone know the BASC guy I could cc on here?)
Nothing wrong with sending a polite email asking them to explain their visit.
Banging off emails and "cc" ing (is there such a word) everyone in, is unlikely to excite the CC, your MP, or your Shooting Society of choice.
Given that you are where you are with this, perhaps ask for quick a meeting with your FEO (that way the risk of matters getting 'lost in translation" is reduced).
Complaints against the Police are common - provided they are not vexatious, it will not (despite what some 'grassy knoll' apologists will suggest) be used against you.
It is common, it seems to me, that folk are very quick to suggest you complain "in writing" (OFTEN IN BOLD) and "demand" stuff.
Fine. That is one way.
I have always found the gentler way is more conducive to a good outcome.
I wouldn't be too worried, I tried contacting the PCC a few weeks ago, still waiting for a response, not expecting to get one tbhThat's a very good point, I'm presuming the CC, PCC and MP will even give half a tuppeny toss about my situation. I bet the email never even gets read.
Without going into to details someone with whom I'm acquainted took 12 years to get diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, beforehand all the GP had said was that they needed to get out more. 12 years, that's almost the lifespan of 2 1/2 certificates.Perhaps we will be compelled to undergo 6-monthly Ministry Of Mental Heath tests to permit retaining our kit.

Forgive me but the relevance of your comment is lost on me unless you are suggesting the'diagnosis applies to the OP who simply was asked to show a reloading process by 3 officers ???????Without going into to details someone with whom I'm acquainted took 12 years to get diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, beforehand all the GP had said was that they needed to get out more. 12 years, that's almost the lifespan of 2 1/2 certificates.
I think his comment is in reply to a previous comment - part way through the thread - which discussed arduous medical checks. There have been quite a few random tangents throughout this thread, one being about a 1980's murder. I'm certainly not a paranoid schitzophrenic! ...... atleast ...... the purple spider that lives in my mind says i'm not.Forgive me but the relevance of your comment is lost on me unless you are suggesting the'diagnosis applies to the OP who simply was asked to show a reloading process by 3 officers ???????

Perhaps this is why they sent 3 officers, one for each personality….I think his comment is in reply to a previous comment - part way through the thread - which discussed arduous medical checks. Ring 101 or 999 if the situation warrants it, and ask if officers have been sent to your address, even better if you can give a epaulette number (not sure if that is the correct term) rank and nameI can never get hold of my FAO or the office so how do i know on the spot if the paper work they produce is real you hear of so many cons and tricksters these days you don't what's real and what's not
Collar number. Harks back to the time when the uniform had stand up collars with the number thereon but the name has endured. Nowadays, they don't re-issue numbers (in most or all forces, I think) so instead of having 4 or less digits, the numbers keep getting bigger. Soon I expect they will have to go down the arm or something.Ring 101 or 999 if the situation warrants it, and ask if officers have been sent to your address, even better if you can give a epaulette number (not sure if that is the correct term) rank and name
One of the lads I worked with, had the "collar number" 303.Collar number. Harks back to the time when the uniform had stand up collars with the number thereon ...
