Pulsar c50

My c50 came today from Blackwoods, I've mounted it and the quality in the daytime is brilliant.

I will set it up on a target and do a review.

Impressive so far.

Awesome glad you like it … all feedback received has been amazing, glad you received it in time for Christmas 🤩
Cheers matey, get ready for a no holes barred review,
Wat nv did u have before this r can compare with wat uv used in the past.... Thanks
I've had my hands on many nv units, I am not prepared to say to much until I've tested out, but will say it knocks spots off the pard in the daytime!

Today I looked through it in the dark very nice image, not sure I am sold on the ir that comes with it.
But it's working fine short range, Monday night it's out working on one of my pest control jobs so I will film rat shooting in a barn with it.

Been out tonight ratting with the c50.

Update the ir is actually more the good enough for ratting.

Tonight work was 30 yards ish, the picture is simply stunning, I was out with my old man who has the lrf pard, we both said both day and night the c50 won hands down.

Setting up the scope on the target is easy. You can see you pellets on the target with a 177 at 30 yards no problem which means no walking backwards and forwards to check the target.

The scope in day time is so good its untrue.

You do need to adjust things alittle to get the best picture at different ranges but that's a small price to pay.

The market has been waiting for a scope like this and I have no doubt it will be the market leader.

The recording function is good but the play back is not a true sense of what you see.

I will be replacing two more rifle scopes with these.

I brought the pulsar helion 2 xp 50 recently and was considering buying the thermion xp 50. But I don't feel they are quite there yet in image quality.

I like to see what I am shooting especially as a professional.

I can buy 3 of these for the same money of the thermion.

Would like to see three batteries as standard really, and it's quite heavy.

Price wise it's on the money 💰

Excellent feedback Keeper , glad your happy , the overall feedback from across the internet seems very positive allround..

Hello all!!

So, Bit of a tech nerd/optics fan here.

I’ve been a long time user of the N450 platform since it was released.
So long as you use the right illuminator with them (standard pulsar one is bin fodder) they are great. The are not the best NV on the market, however their build quality, battery platform, menu system and zero ease of use far outweigh those competitors who may have a slightly better picture.

The C50 I have had about an hours use zero’ing at 100M in fading light in the rain, and I have to say I was ‘underwhelmed’ compared to say the Wulf 4k.
My hand was forced to buy the IR C50 (no non IR available for some time) so effectively it’s about £400 more than a Wulf and you get a free paperweight in the IR. It’s not £400 better than the Wulf IMHO, in fact the Wulf may have this day night scope nailed.
I’m back out on New Year’s Day and will report back……….

If you switch the scope to dusk mode as in day colour and the night setting as its getting dark it becomes day light again.

I shot a rat today that I saw in the thermal because I couldn't see any more with my eyes. I tried this mode and I could easily see the rat in colour and shot it dead. I wish I pressed the record button to show you.

I managed totally fine with the ir that came with it which shocked me, however the price that the ir added I did think was a pulsar stunt for sure.

I will try with my solaris at some point but haven't needed to yet.

For my job and my eye sight which is perfect this scope will make my job easier and earn me money 💰 that's what it's about for me.

A built in lrf would of added the cherry 🍒 take note pulsar

Interesting thoughts and as someone interested in the unit could you please tell me what you think of the image at say 100-150 meters. I’m not talking about the IR quality just how good is it zoomed in to say 7 x magnification as that as the minimum I’d like for foxing. Personally the base magnification seems to low for most UK quarry or perhaps I’m a rarity who low powered scopes are not right.

I did that, but if I can’t see the orange in black bull clearly at 100M, it’s got a lot of making up to do.
Like I say will report back after NYD

Up to now, Black and white is fine
Colour is garbage

But will report back after NYD

All I can say is mine is crystal clear for me, there will always be personal choice like in traditional scopes i guess but I haven't heard this from other reports across the Web, I would say something is wrong with the setup or send it back.

Mid week I am going to the range I will get you a photo at 100 yards of the bull

It’s crystal clear at what distance? With what zoom?
At about 20-40M I reckon you are right it is clear
As I say, I have some further settings to play about with, but if you get a decent setup, perhaps you could share on here?

I zero’d mine yesterday and I could see .308 holes in a splatter burst target (black target that shows yellow around edges once a bullet passes through) at 100. I struggled to see .223 holes though when I zero’d the other barrel. I had to use my Z6i to spot the shots to save me some walking. Weather was overcast with a bit of rain intermittently and at 9am for a baseline. I think daytime headshots of rabbits perfectly possible at 150 yards kit, conditions and shooter permitting.

I have only had limited time due to the time of year to test the IR but it seemed pretty decent out to 150 yards which was the limit of the location rather than the kit. I didn’t experience any white out using the standard IR.

For context I have used/owned Pard 007, old Digex and ATN 4k previously. Of all these I have used the PARD the most as I tend to go out for deer and stay out after for other stuff like foxes, rabbits or boar (obviously not all with the same calibre). For me the Z6i with the pard attached was the best option up until now as it allowed me to have a decent stalking outing before switching and was easy to keep in my jacket in case it was needed. I hate and I really mean hate the ergonomics of the PARD attached to a day scope though. The old Digex wasn’t up to daytime use at all really, due to B&W, but I could always make it work at night for me after a bit of messing with the settings. I did like the software and ergonomics of the Digex though. The ATN should have been the best compromise, but for me the software bugs were a pain in the butt. I know allot of people use them successfully, but the one I had was a software nightmare even after many updates.

My Z6i will always be my go to stalking scope for obvious reasons but if I am ever walking to a high seat to sit out for the night and have the C50 mounted I will have options subject to legal light etc.

Ok Wednesday I will try and make a video.

Remember eye relief is individual.

And the focus ring isn't numbered

That considered I will do my best, this product is very new and I have done my reviews in steps as I haven't wanted to judge too soon plus I needed time to get familiar with it and I am still working on it too.

As I stated in my post, I just got it zero’d and didn’t play with the settings much so I might be totally wrong, hope I am!!
