If you have put old offences on previous applications I would not worry.

So not accidentally, instead it was blatant law breaking…..hmmm….sure that would go down well with an FEO.Oh look, up there! A straw man argument in all its glory.
Of course I've been over the speed limit. But not 'accidentally' by a margin of almost half the legal national speed limit.
To put it in the context of this site, what would your opinion be of a shooter who admitted that for (roughly) every two intentional rounds fired he negligently discharged another?
Well its called self control. I have a convertible Nissan 370z, which is easily capable of over a ton. But I value my FAC and my business, so I dont give into the boy racers smashing the big end out of their Vauxhall Corsa with a £500 exhaust and their £300 sound system bombing by me.Sorry. I disagree, A momentary lapse in concentration can get you above a ton on a modern car with a bit of go about it..100mph is nothing nowadays. Speed limits are out of date and need revised.
With modern cameras and detection you could overtake and get snapped at that.
Hardly crime of the century!

Its my toy yes, no denying that. If you are sensible you can get 25 mpg. I have no idea what its really capable of speed wise, but its quick!!Well SM I take it the Nissan is a toy, it’s what I would call a ‘muscle car’ at 3.7ltr and only 20mpg it’s almost as expensive to run as my Def and although more satisfying it’s not exactly ideal for a trip to up to Scotland.
I note that it’s electronically limited to 155 mph so wonder just what it might be capable of if the shackles were removed.
I think the faster and more noticeable the car the more careful you are, there's more to powerful cars than just the speed. I'm lucky and have worked hard and built a good business which has given me a good life and means I drive a 200+mph Aston Martin most days however never been "done" for speeding in it, the irony is I did get caught for speeding in my Amorok truck for doing 79 on the A1 on the way to Scotland, I simply forgot it was classed as a commercial so was in fact 19 miles per hour over the limit.I have a stage 3 C63 AMG Twin Turbo V8
Running around 740 BHP
Only 3 points on my license which I got driving a sprinter vanif that doesn’t show restraint I don’t know what does

I wonder just how many ‘truck’ drivers realise that they are classed as commercials. There seem to be more of them appearing on the school run lately driven by airheads and left parked (with hazards on) in some ridiculous places.I think the faster and more noticeable the car the more careful you are, there's more to powerful cars than just the speed. It was my fault, I broke the law so not complaining about the 3 points and the fine. If it had been the car it would probably of been speed awareness course if anything at all
Depends on the truck, the new Izuzu D Max is fine to do car speeds, it doesnt suffer the penalty of van speed limits.I wonder just how many ‘truck’ drivers realise that they are classed as commercials. Rant over

That's true but then you have the down side of it doesn't have the tax advantages of being classed as a light commercial vehicle. You have decide what is most beneficial to you, the tax advantage or the extra 10 mile per hourDepends on the truck, the new Izuzu D Max is fine to do car speeds, it doesnt suffer the penalty of van speed limits.
I know what you mean about the school run though. That's true but then you have the down side of it doesn't have the tax advantages of being classed as a light commercial vehicle. You have decide what is most beneficial to you, the tax advantage or the extra 10 mile per hour

My point being, if you are going to condemn anyone you better be whiter than white yourself otherwise you are nothing but a hypocrite.
Ok this is going off thread and the wrong way. Lets not end the year on arguments please.Ah, so now we've moved on to cherry picking mixed with straw man. The entire sentence was "Of course I've been over the speed limit. But not 'accidentally' by a margin of almost half the legal national speed limit.". It's called context, you need to read the whole sentence. Or perhaps you can show me where I said I did so deliberately and did so at 100mph in a 70mph limit?
In all the excetement you seem to have overlooked my question so I'll ask it again.

Since you have an inability to avoid the insults….I’ll leave you to it. You carry on with the hypocrisy and I’ll carry on with my clean license.Ah, so now we've moved on to cherry picking mixed with straw man. I was rather hoping I'd get an answer to my question but that's clearly beyond Gixer.Ok this is going off thread and the wrong way. Lets not end the year on arguments please.
No one is saying speeding is not a crime - the point was it’s very easy to exceed the outdated speed limits in modern vehicles.Well its called self control. I have a convertible Nissan 370z, which is easily capable of over a ton. But I value my FAC and my business, so I dont give into the boy racers smashing the big end out of their Vauxhall Corsa with a £500 exhaust and their £300 sound system bombing by me.
Over a ton on any public road is a crime. There is no need. If anyone wants to undertake speeds such as this on any public road they should go on a track day and let off steam without putting other road users at risk.View attachment 236265
Your comparison was nonsense…sorry, but it doesn’t justify any response to the question.I was rather hoping I'd get an answer to my question but that's clearly beyond Gixer.
Happy New Year.
