I am compelled to ask: How long before you gut the deer? Here that is the first thing you do to induce cooling. Just curious. ~Muirthat's the very dab. Thanks

@Brian243 is that the1200 wide model? If how do you find it going through tight turns etc cheersI also have had a Heck-Pack for several years, very easy to use and more convenient than a trailer for small numbers of deer. It will hold two fallow comfortably. There are a fallow doe and follower under the cover in the picture. Local Environmental Health happy to ok it for transporting carcasses.

Never had more than one in myself but would depend on what box type thing you put in the basket. More down to the load carrying spec. Hard to find but just found a review on Gunmart that states a very conservative 86 kilos. So based on that two large Fallow bucks at say 50+ kilos each would test it!How many fallow can you carry on the road with that? Cheers
Yes, it’s 1.2m wide, a standard plasterer’s bath fits in nicely. No problems going through tight turns, it’s narrower than the Suzuki. I fitted a light board on mine as the carrier hides the Suzuki number plate, it also solves the reversing sensor issue. The Freelander 2 I had previously was more convenient with it’s vertically opening rear door.@Brian243 is that the1200 wide model? If how do you find it going through tight turns etc cheers
Something that seems to be being overlooked by many is that the maximum nose weight limit for the vehicle (road use) is often around only 50-90 Kg. That's the maximum downward force that should be applied to the tow hitch otherwise it affects the vehicle braking and handling and is in contravention of the construction and use regulations.Never had more than one in myself but would depend on what box type thing you put in the basket. The locking mechanism on mine has 86 kilos stamped on it and that would fall in line with what you quote above. Also the web site claims them as EEC-EU-wide street legal.Something that seems to be being overlooked by many is that the maximum nose weight limit for the vehicle (road use) is often around only 50-90 Kg. Several motorists locally have been pulled up in the past by the police for overloading their vehicles when carrying trail bikes on similar contraptions. I've seen two motorbikes carried on the rear of some cars so no wonder they were stopped by the police.
Cris that would be what the carrier is rated at, you also need to look in your vehicle's owner manual and that's the relevant figure. The locking mechanism on mine has 86 kilos stamped on it and that would fall in line with what you quote above. Got you, thanks, will have a check on mine in the hand book.Cris that would be what the carrier is rated at, you also need to look in your vehicle's owner manual and that's the relevant figure.
For instance I've just checked the manual for my vehicle and it lists the nose weight as 70 Kg but one of the models in the range has a lesser rating of 50kg. I also came across a stated figure of 90kg for the Mondeo quoted in an article when I looked the other day.
If you go back to the link for the Buzz Rack BUZZ RACK Buzzpro P10 multi-purpose tow ball platform no. BRMP01. it says-
So while the carrier may manufactured to be capable of carrying 75kg your vehicle may be rated lower than this and I understand that for many cars its only around 50kg so just something to be wary of and to keep in mind.
- Maximum load: 75kg (dependent on the maximum noseweight of your tow ball).
