Out of Africa...

We are using these folk to take away the pain of firearms and Jo'Berg transfers.

In the big scheme of things - this is the best value money spent on any trip through SA.

If and when I get to Moz, it will be via jo Berg and with rifle

I had hoped to get an onward connection without having to deal with the firearms dance in SA

I will engage their services to simplify things

Cheers for that pal

Dont forget to take cash for "tips" at Joberg "Hi im the person that makes sure your rifle makes it onto the plane , we love it when we get English Hunters you always give the best tips " .... standing in uniform infront of a large sign telling people not to give anyone any tips ....

The last time I was in Jo'berg airport, I saw a 'porter' go to a female behind one of the desks and get her to write out a 'chit' that said my bags were over the weight limit and could I pay the 'fine' in cash.

So, obviously my bags put on weight between LHR and Jo'berg.

Needless to say, I didn't and he got a short sharp lesson in ancient Anglo-Saxon.

Just one of the plethora of reasons I hate the place.

In my limited experience, every single f**king border crossing in Africa is manned by the same family of utter c**ts !!

On my last trip to SA the staff booking the rifles and Ammo boxes in for the connecting flight made it quite clear that some times the Ammo boxes go missing 🙄. 150 rand later all booked onto contracting flights , they did not even open any boxes to check the contents. On the way home we booked rifles directly home for SA East London to Heathrow.

In case the allure of Moz is not obvious to some, here is the Coutada 9 promo reel John posted previously. I reeeeaaaallllly want to get there one day.

Well now.

I know we do not fly out until October, but I have started to 'locate' stuff I will be taking.

I bought a couple of these a few years back - one for me and one for a mate (who is on this trip).

Not suitable for much in the UK - but apparently (in extremis) you can kill a Buffalo with it.:-|

Recon Scout VG~1 SAN -MAi for the knife buffs.
