Blew it on the DikDik![]()
It's worse than that.
I have shot a DikDik and I 'know' it is an antelope.
He lives in my 'Man Cave".

Ahem! Rather unfortunate choice of words but I think I know what you meant. Unless of course someone knows different……6/7

Blew it on the DikDik
Probably the first time anyone has written that on this forum.Blew it on the DikDik
So not only can I not recognise a DikDik as being an antelope, I also cannot count to eight...
7/8
Managed to get 8/8 .......... Seeing the DikDik..... reminded me of the tale of its downfall - wasn't there an amusing/sordid/embarrassing tale to be recounted about said mounted trophy on your man cave wall???? Just can't quite remember the details......It's worse than that.

Full marks of meChrist on the Cross!
This thread just goes from bad to worse.
I have never shot a DikDik in my life.
What I have shot, and what hangs in my 'ManCave' is a Duiker.
Neither DikDik nor Duiker are deer - they are both antelope.
Small, tiny wee antelope, about the size of a Muntjac (which is a fing deer).
@opticron1 you are absolutely right. The tale behind that particular day's hunt was a disaster, and has given me the worst hunting memory of my life.
I cannot bring myself to raise it to the front of my consciousness - suffice to say, I still cannot bring myself to look that antelope in the face and that is (obviously) why I forgot what species of antelope he was...
Forgive an elderly man a 'senior' moment.
For the sake of clarity.
Herewith is an image of a DikDik

And finally something that I can highly recommend, that will help you avoid confusing the two...
