Vinyl Friday

Had tickets bought for this guy pre covid and he gave the option of a refund or hang onto them for when better days were here, he played Killarney last night and it was brilliant. One of those concerts where kids and pensioners alike were rocking their socks off.

As much as I dislike Brian Ferry later stuff, this album in 1973 was completely groundbreaking stuff, if it was released today it would still hold its own. What was it? Jazzy rockabilly psych glam gender bending lyrical poetry, its all there. When Eno Manzanera & Mackay left, things were never the same. An absolute masterpiece.

I remember purchasing it in a long-forgotten Ealing department store and playing it that afternoon at my girlfriend’s house in Elm Avenue.
