The Polyfades are all 1 in 12" (as imported to date by GMK), its a 12 month wait for a 1 in 8", god knows why they have favoured the 12" twist.Have a look at T3 polyfade
In which case, look at the S&L Legacy. 1:8 or 1:10 and so much more than a ‘tool’ and, after all, we’re here for a short time.......Get a 1:8 twist.
You wont go wrong with Tikka but if you like refinement, why not treat yourself? Were here for a short time.

Watched a video of them on Youtube, I'm sure they're lovely but just my own personal taste, the bolt looks like something off an old WWII rifle, the stock looks ok but you have to pay extra if you want decent wood etc, not sure about the 3 holes in the bolt either ...
Can't say it's wowing me tbh :/
Especially when a grade 3 (where they start putting the 'fancy orange butt pad' on it, started at over £2,500 ...

If at all possible I would suggest you try and find a Legacy to handle. The bolt action on all the S&L rifles is one of the smoothest actions available.
Here is a couple of photos of the stock on my Grade 2 Legacy.View attachment 259017View attachment 259018
Going down the 223 route myself once i sell some of my wildfowling 10 bores, maybe even my CZ .22 hornet ? as i plan to run reduced loads and full whack long range heavy/long for calibre copper . Tikka T3X 1-8 twist varmint for me with the overlay synthetic .If you had to choose a new 223 rifle, which would you go for?
CZ 527 - most likely the 19" barrel carbine as they have discountinued the model etc and these seem to be what the few places I have visited have in, also would consider the American or Night sky (both 22" barrels), I believe all 3 are 1:9 twist. Tempted by these, decent price, good reputation etc, although slightly off put by the awkward safety etc. Benefit from a proper scale 223 action etc.
Think they price in around the £900 mark.
Tikka T3x - either the hunter or lite synthetic stainless version, both seem light enough, obviously well respected rifles, however they are a one size fits all action and not a small size action like many 223's.
Benefits from great reputation, known for accuracy, build quality etc.
Available in either 1:8 or 1:12 twist rate.
Tikka T3x lite roughtech fluted 223 - £1350 - quite like the look of this one.
Tikka T3X SuperLite Stainless Fluted - £1270
Tikka T3X Lite Stainless - £1185
Sako 85 XS action, a proper scaled down 223 size action.
Sako 85 hunter - £1735
I can't seem to find the regular stainless synthic Sako 85 in 223, only laminate etc.
Unless you want the Carbonlight for over £2750+ :O

Its not a heavy gun. The extra action length used to bother me however on the upside it gives scope to change the chambering in years to come
Its time i had another gun with a decent factory Picatinny rail to swap sighting devices , short stiff barrel ( might even have a bit more off the end ) to compensate for a bigger moderator
I must say the new Tikka T3x rough tech ember looks appealing.
They would do if we could buy them in 1 in 8" twist without the ridiculous wait.
