Collection round for carcasses…

Shot a ewe for a local farmer ( no cost) she told me the vet who was on the farm wanted £80 to euthanasia it. The vet was still there when I shot it ( captive bolt) so much for animal welfare. So £80 plus knacker man £85 for a £50 screw. I believe the ewe had twin lamb syndrome.

I think a weekly collection would be a good idea.
The 'system/idea' you've put out looks a good and fair one to me.
Head shots will always raise a few eyebrows.

Hopefully you can get it up and running. Need one in Herefordshire.

Im not being funny but this is gonna pizz a lot off but i am not a greedy man if a small dealer paid me a reasonable price collected and keeps my larder clear they can have the lot!

Too many think killing deer is going to make rich and its not !

For me venison pays the ammunition and the bar bill, nothing more.

And he charges £150-250 for a horse inc the dispatching . They cost a lot to run
All good points for consultation meetings in the future if we have not been out thought from get go. If game dealer does not take how much per unit of tax payers money spent on removing from landscape. If some form of subsidy game dealers still a good means of disposal one way or other.

But in long term will give them back problems, probable relationship problems and a definate hatred for deer, however working for one of the larger organisations a very nice career. Long gone the days of deer managers giving individuals a hard time over not achieving targets, ticket to ride. Sub contractors burn out in the end or get wise, depends where in the pecking order you are and a endless supply of youth hammering on the door, perfect.

sounds a good idea. if i had to pay a knacker man to get rid of the deer i either wouldnt shoot them, leave them where they fell or charge the land owner. any fair reduction in price because of poor handling, shot damage or fat id say is fine.
ive used a game dealer before that claims to pay monthly but all ways needs chasing. reliable regular bacs payments would be great

All this talk about The knacker man, I have to remove all my red deer waste from site so that all goes to the knacker man at £40 per 150 kg ish My waist bill is roughly 10 to 15 wheelie bins over the course of the winter so approximately 4 to 500 quid, so from my point of view if I cannot get rid they don’t get shot

Yes nearly every dealer I used before you’ve always chased and had almost beg for the money

Three months is the longest I’ve waited! But I do understand business is business, it’s all cash flow they’re paying out money they’re paying in money but also I bet they’re owed a lot of money so I think you have to be a little bit fair with them but it does come a point where it does grate a little bit

But they were paying almost £3 per kilo for red deer Chest shot So the check was well worth having when it arrived

Don’t know really but again as it’s hypothetical at present I guess as fat is a waste product then I can see no problem
In ripping it out before paying
With this being a hypothetical matter, have you shot and skinned a large fallow buck in the month of August as under the fur could be an inch of fat which is connected to the flesh like 2k resin... Gets sticky and slippery as the temp goes up after you skin it. hypothetically speaking.
