6.5 Creedmoor for fox?

No experience of the Creedmoor, but I've used plenty of 95gr V-Max out of the 6.5 Swede. They don't always exit a fox, and with all that energy going into such a small animal you're pretty much left with a bag of soup. Shot placement doesn't matter - aim for the heart no matter what angle they're at and let them have it. They will go down and they won't get back up.

When I had my creedmoor the cheapest and most readily available factory ammo I could get were federal which used 95grain v max. Fantastic bullet which killed many foxes at all ranges and a good number of deer also.

They’ll be fine 👍

Yeah, more to see if they through and through or release all their energy like the V Max that NKC mentioned.

But, yeah, I only mention them as theyre a very cheap creedmoor ammo and depending if the OP needs to buy new components to load for the CM or 223, they may be a cheap option.

Doubt anyone is loading Creedmoor with newly bought components for cheaper than the S&B.

I use mine for Foxing when it's windy or I know I might have to stretch it out a bit. 95 Vmax 43.6 RS52 3450fps, doesn't seem any noisier than my .243 I have a Stallon moderator which is fairly quiet. the hardest part is getting RS52 at the moment, hopefully production will come back to the general public, once the War in the Ukraine has ended.

This got me excited in ways I don't wish to share

What would that come to roughly for a fully homeloaded round?
In .223 mine cost around 50p a round , thats a 53g vmax , RS40 and CCI primers.
The Creedmoor between 75p and a £1 , thats for a 95g vmax or Lapua Scenar 123, and a 140 or 143 ELDX respectively.

Im not factoring in the brass just yet for the Creed as Im on 5-6 firings on a mix of Lapua SRP and Hornady LRP , as I havent lost a case yet.
I reckon they will easily do 10 firings , maybe more , so an extra 8 or 9p on average.
The ,223 Ive never bought new brass for , its come from donated spent rounds, or military surplus.

The S&B 140gr are good value then compared to getting into reloading as a newbie right now.
Bought some a couple of years ago , they are certainly well priced , never really used them, as I was reloading too.
Dont quote me , but Im sure I heard there was a dodgy batch (cant remember what it was now, case failures ?)
Im sure they were coming out at around 2800 fps , which is fairly quick for 140g in the Creed.

Ive gone through about 120 and found them to be fine so far.

We used them on Reds and seldom did they exit. Deer were dead non the less and they were accurate at 0.5MOA through my mates S20 and my CTR

What primer and powder cost is that 50 p based on thought, current or historic?
