Croatian Trips

As from 1st January 2023 you now need to obtain a Croatian Visitors Hunting Permit before you arrive . Use this link to the site Hunting Card Portal.

You need to upload your passport and the front page of your FAC (the whole FAC is too big ) twice - one for Licence and again for hunting permit. Fairly straightforward.

Oh and then pay either Euro 70 for a month or Euro 300 for an annual permit. They email the licence straight back - simple system.

Cool!

Presumably it's the requirement to get them in advance that's new, as I've got examples in front of me of the Croatian "Hunting License for Foreigners" dated 2015 & 2016? Back then we didn't get them until we arrived at the hunting estate though.

Do they also check for the permit at the airport when they check your firearms documentation now?

Not sure how it works yet, going a week today so will report back. Never been asked to show one in over 10 years although I have a nice collection of the small licences in their plastic covers.

Arrived in Zagreb today, KLM Newcastle to Zagreb via Schiphol, eventfull to say the least. Newcastle with firearms a breeze, arrived at 7:15 by 8 am sat with a bacon butty and a coffee all done! Then airport closed until 10:30 no air traffic controllers due to sickness ! Arrived Schiphol seriously late but plenty of time for transfer, then discovered I was on standby, eventually given a seat in row 2.

Landed in Zagreb at 4, left airport at 6:30, firearms paperwork ridiculous , now pay at office by cad not sweet shop outside, European progress no doubt. All anyone wanted to see was FAC and passport, nothing else!!! No invite, no Croatian hunting licence no Dutch customs paperwork etc. But I bet if didn't have it sods law they would ask for it.

Journey sounds a bit of a nightmare!

Good luck with the trip :thumb:

Back yet?

Yes now "boaring " in Turkey.

Newcastle and KLM return was easier than departure. Newcastle airport run all checks thru their standard security search area by their own staff, no BF involved except on return as usual.

Went to Turkey from Manchester on Turkish Air and it's even simpler than Newcastle, hope the return goes as well.

You with Mark?

I had a great time in Turkey a few weeks ago with only a dusting of snow and temp just below zero. Fantastic scenery with loads of boar, probably best trip I've been on.

Going to Portugal on a Monteria next week with temp of 19 Deg C forecast so no heated jacket required for that one.
