Stickers in car's

Mines covered in Shooting stickers and I even leave guns in the car without locking the doors or shutting the windows. I've never had a problem..........................Well not since I bought a Rottie anyway! :D

BASC one in the car,

and on the truck I've got

Keep Hunting
Keep Shooting
Hunting for Repeal
BASC

Never had a problem, probably because my truck is usually covered in blood and flies - they don't come near it ;)

I prefer my food clean.

I can't see the point of stickers. They're only given away free as an advertisement for an organisation/pressure group, and they obscure your view. If you want to make a statement then they serve a purpose.... the point is that most folks don't have the need to.

I am going to remove my BDS and SGA stickers as i don't want to tempt fate but my LF lamp permanently fixed to the Defender sunroof may cause concerns?

RD, I don't think the antis are clever enough to work out what the lamp is for. :???:

I've had stickers on all my trucks for the last 10 years never had a problem, and like others i refuse to hide what i do legally and enjoy, if someone smashes it up then so be it. I'm proud of fieldsports, i live in the country and i think more advertising of fieldsports (stickers, magazines in newsagents etc etc) can only do good.

100% right The moment we hide what we do you might as well sell the guns and take up golf. The GP need to know the strength of feeling, numbers and our thoughts and non of this will get through if we hide.

There is no such thing as bad advertising. If we create discussion, providing we stick with the facts we will win.

I was heavily involved with the pro hunting debate. We nearly lost it and if we had all field sports would have paid. Dont believe that the ban made any differance to hunting. It was a compromise that the labour party had to make. They banned it but could not stop it and so nothing changed. That all came down to PR and these stickers are part of that.

That you again Mark? What are you doing playing on the internet in the early evening, don't you have one or two pheasants and partridges to be checking on?

Regards, Luke.

Obviously I was only joking about the Rottie BUT maybe it's not such a bad idea to train one as a tracking dog and leave it guarding the car when out stalking. They're clever dogs with an excellent nose. They're good enough for the police and the correct ones make great pets too. Sorry, I'm going off topic here aren't I? Anyone use one for this though? Maybe start another topic with the answers?

I don't like car stickers, but i would make an exception for a BASC one were it not for the obvious advertisement for the availability of guns in my car and/or in my house.

I don't imagine anyone would take my behaviour in this regard for anything other than eminently sensible precaution against burglary and theft in a high-crime urban area

To mistake this for a desire to conceal my shooting activities out of shame is absurd: take up golf indeed!:eek:

Totally agree with you, the world has gone mad.

There is a difference between hiding what you do and not advertising what you do.
I was more than happy to have a BFSS sticker in my window until we had lots of anti trouble and had my tyres slashed and window broken. Got to the stage of using different vehicles to get to meets and for day-to-day family use. Ok this was 15 years ago now...
Having said that, have never had an issue with the 'red tractor' and BDS sticker in the family car; these days I just don't put anything distinguishing on vehicles that are essential for daily life and business.

I feel like being a vandal when I see those stickers saying " baby on board" "small person on board" etc
Who gives a damn if the sprog is in the car

I think these were originally designed to inform the emergency services to look for a child in the event of a bad crash.
But I agree that they have gone a bit too far with the "little princess" etc, thet get on my wick too.
