Wrong....

How do you do that with a 3.30 am start for Roe....
Arrive at you digs a day before lol you have spent too much time shooting bits of paper :tiphat:

Whatever pal,

It said from 2021 the first shot is prone or simulated highseat.

Jog on, troll.

i get me man servant to do mine so I can rest up for the shot :old: :rofl::rofl::rofl:
Quite....look at this clip on a Roe ...my money is sticks and if you were on the bi-pod the grass in front is too tall,
how do they neck shoot Roe when they are standing in cover...mow a path through..!
This stalk is exciting
:tiphat:

I shot the 100 and other distances off my sticks, none of this laying down pretending to be Mark Wahlberg
Do you "practice" just before shooting a real deer/fox
You’ve brought this up before and it confused people. At the time I checked with both Bds and Basc on behalf of my colleague who was due to take the test. Both said that the 100m shots had to be taken from prone or simulated high seat if available and exemptions such as shooting off sticks would only be allowed if a person was disabled, it isn’t an option that you can simply elect to do. Both gave the same answer almost word for word so I’m pretty sure it is a definite policy. Both also said that they suspect your experience was a mistake by a trainer and shouldn’t have been allowed without exceptional circumstances.

none of my rifles have a bi pod they don’t fit in with my shooting i’m either off sticks or against a tree seeing as I detest ticks you won’t find me on the ground either, your shooting should fit with what you do i’m always happy to shoot any discipline off sticks, against a tree or short distance free hand it is what I practice for every day use and find it easy to do and accurate

I doubt most of the courses offer the highseat option
They ought to.
I remember when I did mine it wasn't an option then, but when I gave feedback on the course I suggested that shooting from a simulated highseat should be introduced as part of the test. There's a lot of newcomers to stalking who are doing DSC1 as a first step on the road, and a significant proportion of those will go on to take their first ever deer from a highseat.
I was one such newcomer.

I think it's probably because most are delivered at village halls and similar venues then they go to a local place to shoot which arent set up for it. The BASC one at Wrexham may offer it.

The one I was on at Grantham was in a local field so prone was the only option.

The simulated highseat doesn't need to be high. Just a seat with a rail. Can be sited anywhere you could place an ordinary kitchen chair. So no limitations due to venue.

I would have thought theyd have done it off the pickup or something else for a bit of extra height at least but it just wasnt offered.

Suppose its easier to just everyone to go prone.

Interesting to see if anybody has been offered the choice.

Spot on for my 243 aiming just above head, I did however do the same with the 308 and it was still in but near the bottom of the circle

practice off your very steady sticks to get it locked in the brain box then it’s a Doddle don’t forget your 3 in 4 as well to get your grouping tight as possible

good luck
Will be there or thereabouts for most folk as it basically needs to be the height of the centre of the scope above the bore.

That is post 24 not16 getting boring because you are wrong as usual

I said prone in post 16. I, in error missed out highseat. Accepted.

You quoted my post (21) in your post (24) as you can see in the screenshot above where I said prone or highseat.

'Struth.

Yes I have and both people abled and disabled should be treated equally with out favour or do you disagree..?
It was a blessing I did as the prone shooters laying down never saw the people who were walking towards the shooting area...

I have taught abled and disabled divers and both were treated the same in the classroom and in the pool/open water with extra staff close by.
A shooter on the flat lands will have a different approach to their shot compared to one who has spent their time on a bi-pod on the "hill"
This is where the "rule makes" have it wrong, there is no difference in a abled or disabled persons FAC or do you think there should be?
It is about time providers started treating people all the same as things are moving fast with equipment as we have gone from a single stick and open sights to 5 leg sticks and a digital scope.
As for making comments on it was "a mistake" if they want me to rock up and shoot prone send me an invite... :tiphat:
