CCI make Norma HMR ammunition.i'd be damned suprised if two of the worlds largest ammo manufacturers use each other for some lines and just rebrand. just saying.
I found this too with the Norma but after about 3/4 of a box it started to group pretty well. Coincidence maybeI bought a couple of boxes of the Norma recently to give it a go, on the advice of my local gun store. Not great groups at all through my rifle
Sometimes it takes a while for the lube to coat the bore when changing from one brand to another. It's often unnoticed but in some cases very notable.I found this too with the Norma but after about 3/4 of a box it started to group pretty well. Coincidence maybe
I found Winchester subs lousy a few years ago but noticed they are in different box's and although I can't test them in my old rifle the Ruger does ok on them.....so far!Never used Norma , will never buy Winchester again when they send out .22 ammo and some do not even fire i do not want to repeat the experience . That's proper poor QC
Wish i could still get Lapua / SK subsonics , now on Eley subs good up to 80yards then start to loose the plot ( meaning opening up to 2-3" instead of under the inch up to 80, like they hit some sort of wall of stability

Was that the old box or the new small old style box without the tray? This 42gr ones are horrendous. Bought a box to try, nearly all of them were supersonic and every 4th or 5th one would fail to eject. Stuck in the chamber!
I don't think so, some maybe but we mustn't forget time. The time is so short to effectively burn the lube, thinking about it, if it did it would be pointless!Yeah I've heard this before. Not sure of the temperature of gasses released by the measly .22LR but surely it'd vaporize though no?
same brass, but trays are different. if it was the same manufacturer, surely they would be packaged in the same trays and box sizes.. what does it say on the back? if it's not made 'by them' it should say 'manufactured for', etc. I believe

Not that simple I fear!same brass, but trays are different. if it was the same manufacturer, surely they would be packaged in the same trays and box sizes.. what does it say on the back? if it's not made 'by them' it should say 'manufactured for', etc. I believe

Just like food for different supermarkets are made at the same factory and use the same boxes but different logos. Not that simple I fear!
Same brass, same bullet, same tray but clearly labelled differently.

Interestingly Norma states it shoots a 40gn bullet at 1017 fps and Winchester states it shoots a 42gn bullet at 1065 fps.
Manufacturers’ Test Barrel claims and my barrel differences aside, I shot them all in my stutzen so there is consistency from my part yet at 50m the heavier Winchester shoots about 3 inches higher (and far better) at only 50m (see my earlier photo #19)!
Now I am no ballistician and have not yet chronographed each but why would there be such a huge difference in trajectory in two bullets (at only 50m) which are pretty close to each other in weight and speed unless of course someone is telling a porky!

I can't tell which box that is. The ones I'm trying at the moment are the same design of box but no tray. Just a little plastic boxe with all the bullets together. Not separated from each other.
