Hi guys,
I’m looking for a scope to dial in with. Been looking at a night force NX8 4-32x does anyone have any experience with these? What other scopes do people use?
Thanks

Look at the old Bushnell Elite Tacticals. Japanese made, side focus down to close distance, loads of internal travel and the dials track true.

Around £300 second hand which is much better value than anything European.

Try taking a look at the Arken range of scopes, very good positive clicks and good bright glass. Doesn't break the bank either 👍🏻

I use an NX8 4-32X50, it's very good, tracking is solid. Other options for reliable dialling scopes that won't hurt your pocket so much are available.

I'm using the NX8 4-32x50 scope with MOAR reticle in SFP. It replaced my old NXS.
It's a great all round scope. I use it for deer, and for gong bashing out to 600m. Also for Fox with a Vulpine Mk3 rear add on.
It tracks perfectly with solid audible clicks. The reticle is lovely, fine enough for accurate work but still clear at night with an add on.
As it's a Nightforce it is a robust scope. My only gripe is the illumination button. I don't like having to keep pressing the thing to cycle through the levels of brightness and colour.
Quality of image and build is very close to my March 2.5-24x52 SFP.

What is the end use stalking or and target and what range if target are you looking at .
I use turret scopes for both Delta and Hawk.

Target and vermin control (carrions) out 1000 if possible 😂 it’s to go on a 6.5. I’ve got a Z6i for deer and such.
Cheers

you're going to be doing a lot of dialling then. Assuming your budget will stretch I suggest the NX8 over any Hawk or Delta. Had both and judging by the feel of the turrets I wasn't confident they'd last for long. Also the tiny screws in the zero stop were soft metal. My Nightforce has defied my attempts to wreck the screws and the the clicks are as positive as when it was new.

I really rate the NX8. It’s a lot of scope for the money. The glass is really very good with crisp edge to edge clarity.

I also own Schmidt PM11, Minox ZP5 and Zero Compromise Optics. All these have excellent European glass. Certainly for “varmint” shooting the NX8 doesn’t give up anything to these.

I also have a couple of Bushnell Elite scopes again these are excellent first focal plane scopes. With excellent Japanese glass.

The NX8 is mechanically sound with solid repeatability. Second focal plane is a valid choice. For your intended use. Fi

There are a lot of new scopes hitting the market but I personally will stick to established makes. Reason being there is a greater chance should anything go wrong in the future, heaven forbid you something goes wrong, the company will be there to take care of you.

On that reasoning you are pretty much left between choosing Vortex or Leupold (I'd pick the latter everytime).

However, some scopes are just less likely to break from the outset. Warranty is all fine and good but I'd rather not need it.

I’ve a March scope for sale in the classified section. Plenty travel and magnification for the above and more. Fire me a PM over if you’re interested.
👍🏻

I currently have a leupold on my .243 good scope but it’s had a lot of hassle now and going to put the Z6i on that as everyday rifle and a dialer on 6.5

I have a NF Benchrest 12-32x56 on my range gun, really like it but it’s not a walk and stalk scope at all. 1/8 MOA, yesterday dialled in a 28MOA shift and 2MOA wind adjustment to take a middle of V bull first shot at 1,000 much to my RCO’s surprise. The scope is better than I will ever be.
