Opinions on .22 WMR options?

I need something that hits foxes hard. I think I'm going to have to try different stuff and see what I like. If I get on with Hornady I'll look no further, but opinion seems to be varied if I'm honest. No clear choice from users!
I should be down south somerset in a couple months time to pick up a rifle hopefully on a saturday,

if your free and about I will them sign on your ticket/fac and give you a box of 50 of the federal 30gr speer hp to try out in your rifle 👍

That's very generous, thanks. Stay in touch and I'll see if I'm around 👍

If your down south give Ladds of Crediton a call. Its v likely they may have some in their back room. If so will take some finding

That is one of my local gun shops. Just a pain in the arse to get to. But they've been very good to me in the past so I don't discount them.

What do you mean by 'tough'? A bit hard? Over penetrates? Any advice appreciated 👍
If you mean my comment about the Hornady 30 gn v max yes, they didn't seem to expand much. They do the job but The Speer bullet loaded Federal definitely killed fox's quicker.

Look out for the CCI range. Although an old design they work well and are usually cheap.

The Remington were ok but I never sought to get any more. More than happy with the the Federal and CCI.
Below is an old photo of a Hornady 30 gn. I think it had shot a rabbit and gone into the turf.DSC09795.webp

One thing I will say about the Remington is that even on rabbit they shatter leaving pieces of lead all over the place. They make a right mess!

Maybe a good reason not to use the rabbits for dog food - those little bits of copper can be very sharp!
