What is this worm?

Fallow pricket, chest shot, end Sept.
Hung about 2 days at 4C.
Then butchered, vac packed and frozen, before Oct 1 when I went on holiday.

Defrosted in fridge for 2 days, wife wanted a casserole today.

Loud scream later: this worm found inside the vac pack, still bloody alive and wiggling!!!!

Anyone encountered this before?IMG_2050.jpeg

I know this might be a daft question, but are you 100% sure it was inside the vac pac and had indeed done 3 weeks at -18C? I'd be thinking it has come from somewhere else - veg in the fridge etc? I'm no expert on worm physiology but they've a lot of water in them and I can't imaging they do too well for being completely frozen then defrosted.

Well, my wife opened the packet. She said it was crawling inside the packet (I have the video). She scraped it into a jar……I only saw the final product ie the jar!

I cannot believe any living thing could be there, but here we are.

I guess you could put it back in the freezer for a week then defrost and see if it survives??!
