Yes but nothing to answer my questionOne thing also is good reason to possess as you would be putting in for a variation to own the larger calibre.
Have you looked in the Firearms Guidance notes? (under variations)
Straying off the thread somewhat but…Is parliament not a branch of government?
In bold is to the effect the closed or territorial condition will have been removed, so is not under the list of land which has been cleared in the past by that police force in what ever county you live in. It is quite simple TBHYes but nothing to answer my question

CorrectWithout sounding daft , can anyone shed light on an open ticket fac for me please, I've been advised that an open ticket means I don't have to notify the law if I acquire new land and it's down to my discretion as to the calibre I see safe to shoot , correct!
Not correct, you must still apply for authority to possess every firearm on your certificate and show you have good reason to use it. Having an open certificate doesn’t automatically mean you can apply for a 6.5, having land with deer on and permission to shoot there does provide good reason. But I've been told I can go out and purchase let's say a 6.5 creedmore rifle because I see fit to use it ? Basically open means I'm legal to own any reasonable calibre I see fit to use ?
You’ve ripped 2 questions into one (confusing) post.I'm unable to find any links on line to deem this correct? Open surly means able to shoot on land without notifications p.s I've been shooting for a while and own a .243 & .22 but never considered an open ticket till now
In what way? My experience of the same forces show reasonable consistency.I was west Mercia now West Midlands/staff's these forces have very different opinions on what an open licence is in my experience
Not for the first time the FLD has got it wrong, if you have evidence of going on paid stalks on other peoples land that should be enough, otherwise next to nobody would have a .375 upwards on their tickets because most people who have one use it abroad.I had a closed license and land at the time passed for a .243 I applied for .308 and 300WM with west Mercia so I could book paid stalking trips for boar and deer they said that’s fine we will give them to you on an open license as you have no land passed for them when I moved to West Midlands I had a phone call telling me I had to dispose of my 308 and 300WM as I had no land passed for them I said open license covers that problem doesn’t it they said no there rules are you must have land passed for every calibre you have even with an open licence and land passed for 30 cals doesn’t cover the 300 WM
Sounds like they have no idea what they are talking aboutI had a closed license and land at the time passed for a .243 I applied for .308 and 300WM with west Mercia so I could book paid stalking trips for boar and deer they said that’s fine we will give them to you on an open license as you have no land passed for them when I moved to West Midlands I had a phone call telling me I had to dispose of my 308 and 300WM as I had no land passed for them I said open license covers that problem doesn’t it they said no there rules are you must have land passed for every calibre you have even with an open licence and land passed for 30 cals doesn’t cover the 300 WM
