Muzzle Break 300wm Recommendations

I am hoping to go on my first European driven boar hunt shortly, I have a 300wm which currently has a very good mod on it (Sauer) However most European countries don’t allow Mods so I am looking for first hand recommendations for a quality Muzzle Break, I am not looking for the thread to descend in to the +/- of mods versus muzzle breaks as I just need to get a decent muzzle break

Have a look at Dolphin Guns offerings (no vested interest), they will make to order if required.
Thanks for this they look a good design however the website could do with some work you can’t look up the sizes and threads, I have used their contact page to leave an enquiry

You need either:

1) brake that doesn't need timing
- "pepperbox" style etc.
- spitting gases in every direction (not a problem when standing, prone it's different story)
- recoil reduction and increased noise are usually lower

2) shimming or machining for timing
- requires certain torque when installing and removing, might be problem in the field

3) separate lock nut or similar arrangement
- might need longer thread than standard

4) one of those self-timing brakes like mentioned
- check manufacturer specs for thread length etc. also with this option

5) there's also some manufacturers with systems that combine the installation of brake and moderator
- A-Tec A-LOK Mini
- Ase-Utra Borelock
- I'm sure there are others, but the above mentioned are compatible with traditional style mods, while all the rage seems to be "flow through" type mods for semi/full auto, and those are not real mods when you compare attenuation

That’s all very helpfull. Having started from a knowledge base of nil with regard to Muzzle Brakes 2 hours Googling yesterday gives me more insight in to your post. Main issue is my thread size is M15x1mm that’s not very popular lots of M14x1 and M18. I have about 10 days to source on and check the Zero

Here's some vendors to check. I might not use the screws on Stalon style (very bad idea to have separate metal parts and several hundred bar (if not thousand) pressure together. Note the huge price spread.

Not in stock, for price reference:

Older SD thread, maybe worth contacting member Lateral:

Thanks for your efforts with this I will follow up on it 👍

Fwiw I have the blaser brake on my 7mm rem mag, not had any issues with using it prone (not used in dusty conditions tho). it has less felt recoil than my suppressor. It also alters poi by -4cm @ 100m zero compared with the f&d magnum suppressor.

I am chasing up some options this week as I then need to check zero with Mod off and Muzzle Brake on, I read that some no variation others see a few inches

Massive difference on my .300 WM with moderator on and then muzzle brake on.
FYI - I’ve got a Dolphin Rifles muzzle brake.

Sent an email to Dolphin sadly they came back informing me they don’t do an M15x1, another possibility closed down. Following up on a Tier One, and a Viass plus trying to source a Sauer, time not on my side

I use a pinkney engineering brake on my .300 - you can get them on eBay and they are great, about £25 posted, and he can do them in whatever thread you need.

Thanks for the tip, I am looking to pay much more than that but it may be an option

I've just returned from first boar trip . I had a 7mm rem mag barrel for my blaser . I bought one of the above vais brakes from swillington which I think works well could see every shot go and little recoil. Looks tidy on the rifle which has std barrel 15x1 spigot
