Muzzle Break 300wm Recommendations

I've just returned from first boar trip . I had a 7mm rem mag barrel for my blaser . I bought one of the above vais brakes from swillington which I think works well could see every shot go and little recoil. Looks tidy on the rifle which has std barrel 15x1 spigot

Good to hear, I have just sourced a Vais Brakes from Swilington s it looks good and gets good reviews it’s on my Sauer 404 in 300wm. Off to check zero on Sunday, did you have much zero shift on your 7mm rm versus using a moderator

I've not checked zero. Rifle shoots like a shotgun no muzzle flip. It's loud mind lads below me all said what the hell was I using !!!!

Checking zero with my Vais tomorrow to see if any difference with that on versus my Sauer Mod, hoping it’s pretty close to current zero. I always wear Electronic Cans for zeroing but am expecting a louder “ Bang” off my 300wm they are a bit shouty with a mod on!!

With my first driven boar coming up shortly I did my first session at Holland and Holland‘s indoor cinema room driven boar simulation on Thursday. Having never shot driven boar before I found it a really useful hour with a decent instructor, the targets get harder and further away, they introduce woodland and you get to shoot an actual rifle with proper rounds, the tech is clever the screen freezes on your shot and shows you the strike, all very helpful I would recommend it to others

He isn’t taming a tank though is he.

A pepper pot or simple shark gill design is more than sufficient for a hunting rifle.
On 300wm I’d not bother than use a pepper pot, that’s where “Buy once cry once” came from.
Best thing is the JP has never been expensive either 🎯

Yes exactly my thoughts, bought the Vais from Swilington spoke to them first as ever very knowledgeable and helpfull, fillet it and it’s a pepper pot design including some holes in the end of it around the front plate. Will find out when I check zero what effect versus a Mod I am hoping not much

To close, Vais performed very well regarding muzzle flip reduction and decrease in recoil, interesting the rounds were going 3+ inches hight at 100 yds compared to my Sauer Moderator zero but spot on re left/right

Stick to the mod 🎯

3+ high 🙈

JP Recoil Eliminator all day long

Not sure how you come to that conclusion, never shot the 300wm with nothing on the end always use a Mod, a muzzle brake is always going to alter POI 3inches hight quickly corrected with a few clicks of the scope then back to sub 1 inch groups at 100 yds, simples

That will just be the loss of weight from the removal of the mod.

JP recoil eliminator just look ridiculous and the vais and shark gill brakes do a sufficient job of reducing felt recoil. Like I said he isn’t shooting a tank.
Exactly, plus it is driven Boar with a level of history and tradition so I don’t wish to get a Yellow/Red card from the “ Ethics Police” when they catch me with OTT pipe fitting on the end of the rifle 👍

I was referring to the brand and model specifically not just pepper pot mentioned earlier.
