Small folding knife

I was more focused on blade size, profile and cost. Anyone can spend lots of the Op’s money!

I really hate antler handles, for some reason. Purely subjective personal preference, but I think they look truly awful!

I have a Case Peanut. It’s small enough to fit in my wallet, and after a strip it’s shaving sharp.

Love my buck sprint

Loewen messer, small German pocket knifes ,carbon steel blades easy to sharpen to Razor edge. We used them for mending fishing nets, I wouldn't be without one.

I forgot to mention a reasonably priced very capable knife the Otter Mercator I have one in my 90% used hunting jacket You don’t know they are there

I have one of these somewhere. Really cool little knife. I have gralloched a deer with it. I was given it as a present and mine has the serrated edge. The plain edge is much better. If they did a curved blade, even better still.

I like having a gutting blade. I have an old Premier with a similar configuration that I always keep in my chest-rig, too.

Otherwise, as a back-up, I'd get the biggest folder with a sturdy blade and a good grippy handle. You don't want to hurt yourself in the middle of a deep dark forest with a blade slip.

Had one of these for about 30 yrs now. Amazing little knife and perfectly legal to carry at any time anywhere.

I'll echo the buck 110 yes I know you don't like the clip point, initially I didn't either, but it really does an excellent job of gralloch and most everything else then there's the 112 just as good but smaller I've the slim versions and love them.

It's easy to understand how they have survived the test of time when you use one.

Love my Buck 110, one if the few that can not only sharpen well, but hold its edge even after sorting 5-6 hinds or a couple stags prep on the hill.

Too big for a chest pouch though.

Have you though about just a nice wee Swiss Army knife?
